Will Never Return
She has terrible bedside manners, is rude, doesn’t care to hear what you have to say because she already has it made up in her mind what you have going on. She was constantly trying to make me take BC for my extreme monthly pain. After telling her i did not want to; she seemed annoyed at the fact that I was exercising autonomy. Eventually, she finally ordered an ultrasound and I found out that I have fibroids. She never followed up with me and gave me no advice on what to do except workout more and take ibuprofen. But when i was working out I still had this pain and ibuprofen doesn’t work always. She didn’t care. I’ll never return to her. She should just retire if she hates her patients and here career choice so much.

I went to my second visit with Dr. Lewis after my primary care doc said I might have PCOS. She started the app by asking how much weight I had gained since our previous appointment and “what happened” to make my cycle irregular. She refused to acknowledge my symptoms and the ultrasound I got with consistent PCOS findings, and instead chose to say I had insulin resistance, though she didn’t run any bloodwork to prove or disprove this. She spent a majority of my app telling me what was wrong with the foods I had eaten the previous day and shaming me for not losing weight since our last visit. I’ve never felt so ashamed and unheard in a doctor’s appointment, and I won’t be returning.

Don’t Bother
I went to Dr Lewis to get some answers to questions about my health. She instead took the time to accuse me of being ridiculous and too little too late to be worried about my health now. She made me feel like I should be ashamed and stop wasting her time. She would ask a question and before I could answer she would go on lecturing me. I kept trying to explain and she never let me speak. She decided to humor me and order bloodwork but stated she wouldn’t be reviewing the results cause there was no point. I left there so upset I couldn’t drive away for a bit. Even her nurse asked if I still wanted to schedule the next appt or did I want to go elsewhere. She is not a doctor willing to help women take control of their health. I’ve never been talked to like that by a doctor in all my 39 years.

OBGYN
Dr. Lewis is a very knowledgeable and patient provider. This was my first experience with her, but it will not be the last. She listens to you, which is a rarity for a doctor, from my experiences. She took the time to hear all of my concerns and she gave me realistic expectations. I have never felt so comfortable with a doctor so fast. I didn’t feel like just a number or like I had a limited amount of time for my appointment. All of her staff were friendly and welcoming. I didn’t feel like I was being watched or judged. I drove over an hour just to get to her and am willing to do it again.

The Best Hands Down!!
I absolutely love Dr. Lewis. I ended up being dismissed as a patient by my OBGY when i was 25 weeks pregnant. Most doctors would not accept me past the 20 week mark but Dr. Lewis did. She was/is amazing. She cares about her patients and that's what matters most. I have since had two more children both birthed by Dr. Lewis. I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the point. Schedule the appointment!

Since birth, I have been a patient with the Ochsner Health System, and I have never had a complaint. I have always loved and enjoyed all of the doctors on my care team. However, on 02/23/21, My experience with Dr. Lydia Lewis was disappointing, to say the least. I came to her because I wanted a black female doctor to help me create a care plan for dealing with PCOS. I know that one of the main ways to treat PCOS is to lose extra weight. Over the past few years, I have dealt with things in my personal life that took a mental toll on me—one of those things being the pandemic. Now I am trying to get myself in the best shape possible. When I came into Dr. Lewis's office, she constantly talked over me without letting me explain my situation, told me it was my fault due to eating habits that I was in this situation and that if I didn't get it under control, I was on the road to cervical cancer. I tried to tell Dr. Lewis that I struggled with motivation due to personal things that affected m

Actually showed up on time and sat and waited to see the doctor. No fault on me I was trying to be passed on to another provider. Will never go back. The doctor didn't even try to apologize and I never got a call or correspondance from her or her staff. To me it made me feel like I didn't matter. Thanks for wasting my time.
