Consistent evidence-based care
Dr. A has provided great care to our kiddo for the past 5 years. I love that she is active in current research, and I feel like she listens and cares about our kid.

She does not care
Our son has been battling severe stomach pain along with his other bowel issues. We did some testing in the summer with no results, after 4 months of no change and no follow up we decided to go to another hospital for a second opinion. We received a phone call from her tonight where she told us the new place we are going to (another children’s hospital out of state) was going to do the same tests she wanted to, then told us when we get back she will not be continuing his care. I filed a complaint, this level of patient care should not be tolerated by Seattle Children’s.

Made me feel helpless
My son was her patient for a few years and he felt like a guinea pig. She made him feel nervous, scared, and hopeless. As a mom I felt helpless and she talked to me like his condition was my fault. She also kept him in hospital an extra 3 days because she refused to allow another doctor to operate on him and she was out of town. On more than one occasion, Dr. A seemed to be serving herself instead of my son. I switched to a GI doctor at Swedish and my son was on the right track toward better health, physically and emotionally, after only one visit.
