Dr. Luis Fernandez De Castro, MD

I had posted a review of Dr. DeCastro because my optometrist told me that I had a complication from the cataract surgery he did. Today I went to a new opthalmologist who did a complete exam and said my cataract surgery, (by Dr. DeCastro) was fine and there was no problem. The optometrist who told me otherwise was wrong. I'm looking for a way to remove that review but until I do, I'll post this. Apologies to Dr. DeCastro. He is a fine doctor.

I am delighted to share my positive experience with Dr. Fernández De Castro who recently performed cataract surgery on both eyes. Dr. Fernández De Castro demonstrated exceptional professionalism and experience throughout the entire process, as well as great side manner.

Dr. De Castro accurately diagnosed my glaucoma (rt. eye) when previous doc missed it after repeated complaints by me. I have lost 33% of my vision in the right eye. Follow up appointments & change of meds were done in a timely manner. I questioned his glossing over the bilateral glaucoma and was told to now administer 1 drop Latanaprost in ea. eye. That made me less comfortable.

On time appointment. Very personable the staff. The tech I had Aldi was very professional and knowledge in what he was doing. Referral was made and already have my next appointment

Absolutely the worst eye doctor I have ever encountered. An untruthful doctor to start. Was told he would hook me up with another doctor and would call me. He never called. I eventually called him again and never received a return call which was verified by his office. He had no problem banging out my insurance company which I am in the process of having that payment removed. Please stay away from this individual. Incompetence is a mild description of who he really is. Don't be fooled by his phony 5 star rating. This man is useless to say the least.

My first visit went very well. All of the people who work there were very friendly and they made me fill very comfortable. After speaking to Dr. De Castro for about 5 minutes I felt he was the doctor who could help me. He explained everything to me. He made me fill very comfortable. My surgery went very well and my next visit to Dr De Castro went very well. My life has changed and I can not wait to have the other eye done. He is a great doctor and I will recommend him.

Very positive experience! Dr. DeCastro and his team/staff are extremely professional and caring.

Was professional and treat the problem properly however if you need to see him on an emergency will be near impossible. I end going to another specialist

Dr DeCastro is a very caring, compassionate and competent Physician with excellent manners. He listens and gives proper advice after extensive examination.In addition he always gives reassurance that is not a common occurrence in today's practice. I am extremely happy as he treats my glaucoma with such care that I am so grateful to find a physician like him to relieve my concerns. In addition all the assistant - technicians are caring as they represent the Doctor's attitude for patient care.
