Compassionate Doctor
Doctor Camacho was my husband’s doctor. He was always compassionate and straightforward with him. Him and his staff were always a phone call away and went above all expectations. Would highly recommend him.

The worst doctor ever! We were referred by our family doctor to Luis Camacho for my dad, 88 years old, with prostate cancer, bone and liver cancers. This was our experience.. On Thursday, June 22, 2023, there was a problematic incident with Dr. Luis Camacho. My father had a scheduled appointment at 10:40 am to review his recent liver cancer diagnosis. The wait time for this appointment was 1 hour and 50 minutes so the doctor was seen closer to 1 pm. At this time, Dr. Camacho stormed into the patient room aggressively with a resident, who he referred to as Bella. Once in the room, his first comments were “What do you need from me? You wasted my time from three years ago. I gave you recommendations that you didn’t follow through so now your father has liver cancer. Why would I give you recommendations if you are not going to follow through?” My father, sister, and I were loss for words after these statements. Bella, the resident, stared uncomfortably at the floor. I asked Dr. Camacho why was he was holding a grudge (toward my father) and his reply to my question was “why would I hold a grudge, I’m not the one with cancer.” Dr. Camacho added if my family had done what he recommended three years ago, my father wouldn’t have cancer. After our initial astonishment at his lack of bedside manner and callousness, he continued to condescendingly throw what felt like accusations at our family. To add context to his comments, three years ago, around September 2020, our father was referred to Dr. Camacho for liver evaluation while also addressing his prostate cancer in parallel. We spent several months in the Houston Medical Center with multiple doctor visits, scans, and lab work, sometimes 2-3 times per week. My father received his final diagnosis and is currently being treated for his prostate and bone cancers as well as Hepatitis C. Dr. Camacho continued to act unprofessional based on his incorrect premise that the treatment for the prostate cancer and Hepatitis C were not completed per his orders. Had Dr. Camacho reviewed the my father’s medical records, he would have realized that there are is currently an active treatment plan for those diseases.

Amazing, just incredible!
I have been suffering for about 6 weeks after being discharged from the hospital in Florida. Not a single doctor could get me seen. Thankfully, the caring team that he has scheduled me for the following day after I arrived in Texas. He’s intelligent, but has a great listening ear. He takes all of the data and draws a picture on a dry erase board so that you can see what he’s concluding. I was stunned. Just fantastic. I had labs done immediately after the visit downstairs. Just incredible care, the kind that you don’t see anymore.

Dr. Camacho is kind, compassionate and truly cares about his patients. He is down to earth. As a healthcare professional I understand what he was says but he takes time to explain to my spouse. We never feel rushed during our appointments. He is A+ in my book.

I met Dr. Camacho in September of 2011 when I was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. He was very informative at the first appointment, letting me know exactly what to expect and the treatment process. He was kind, compassionate and caring throughout the entire process. Even though we live 2+ hours away, he was never more than a phone call away and willing to help me with any problem that arose between treatments. I recommend Dr. Camacho to everyone, never felt like a just a number!
