Total Knee Replacement
Dr. Anissian has a great bedside manner. He takes the time to answer questions, but does not burden you with details you don't want. The surgery, I feel, was very successful. He and his team made sure that I had all the pain meds I needed. Fortunately, I was able to control my pain with only an over the counter arthritis pain medicine. I can't say enough good about him.

I have undergone two total knee replacement surgeries performed by Dr. Anissian and his surgical team through the Portland VA Hospital. Dr. Anissian comports himself gentlemanly, extending an aura of confidence and humility like few other surgeons I have known. The outcome of both surgeries successfully restored my mobility, allowing me to return to my horticultural practice. As veterans of the US Armed Forces, we are blessed to have this exceptional surgeon and team available to us military veterans. My recovery from the recent knee replacement is nothing less than miraculous. Both my emotional & wise minds agree that Dr. Anissian is a gifted and compassionate surgeon.

Worst experience ever
This was my second knee replacement so I knew there would be significant pain. But, I didn't expect to have to beg for every bit of pain medication every step of the recovery. Thank goodness for some wonderful nurses that advocated for me before I left the hospital. At my 3 week follow up he told me I shouldn't need pain meds at all anymore because people older than I were often off pain meds by this time. Then he suggested that I was just too stressed and I needed to just relax, watch a movie, and eat a big bowl of candy.
