Great surgeon. Better bedside manner.
I met Dr. Reines when I went to the emergency room for perforated diverticulitis. He recommended a drainage catheter which I had placed for about 40 days. Dr. Reines explained a very difficult concept in a very simple way all through the process. He recently performed successful colorectal surgery and I am recovering comfortably. In addition his competence as a surgeon he is extremely friendly and made me comfortable at all times. I would absolutely recommend Louis Reines to anyone.

Bowel obstruction surgery
Dr Reines and the OR team at Parkland Medical Center performed bowel obstruction surgery on my wife recently. The team was exceptional, professional and caring, putting my wife at ease prior to surgery. Dr Reines used laparoscopy and a small incision to relieve the obstruction which was a fantastic outcome. Well done OR team. Thank you!

He is so skilled and you can tell he loves what he does. He is very smart, kind, funny and very skilled. We are so lucky to have him here in our community. He comes to our hospital only a few days a month but I feel we are lucky to have him here- he is the best of the best. I was lucky that he was on when I had my surgery.

robotic colectomy performed
I recently had a robotic colectomy performed by Dr. Reines, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the initial consultation to the post-operative follow-up, Dr. Reines was professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. During the surgery itself, Dr. Reines and their team demonstrated exceptional skill and precision. Thank you Dr. Reines
I was admitted to Melrose Wakefield hospital when I arrived at the emergency room experiencing severe lower abdominal pain. Lucky for me, Dr. Reines was on staff that night. I was diagnosed with a perforated colon with an abscess. Unfortunately, I got very sick, very fast. Dr. Reines had already left for home but when my nurse contacted him and told him about my worsening vitals and increased pain, he returned to the hospital at 2 AM to perform my emergency surgery. I was able to have the surgery done with a robotic procedure, which greatly aided in my quick recovery! Didn’t even need to go into Boston for this advanced procedure! I can’t say enough about Dr. Reines and his team at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. I was truly given the best care. He always made sure I understood exactly what was happening and I continue to receive support as I follow up at his office where his administrative assistant, Melissa has been so helpful and kind.

Great doctor!
My dad was admitted to melrose Wakefield hospital for pneumonia threw blood work and colonoscopy was then diagnosed with colon cancer and needed a part of his colon removed The doctor was amazing at explaining the procedure in detail. In a way my dad and I could understand. He also did an amazing job relieving any anxiety or apprehension in regards to the robotic surgery and reduced recovery time. My dad hasn’t been hospitalized for anything since he was 17 years old so this was a big stressor for him he speaks to his patients with great detail, and understanding of the medical terms in which most wouldn’t comprehend

Robotic sigmoid surgery
First and foremost, I would like to thank Dr Reines for the utmost care I received from him and his team on my recent surgery. I was in pain off and on for quite some time and the doctor’s diagnosis highly suggested I have surgery to my colon. Dr. Reines performed a robotic sigmoid resection of my colon because of colon fistula to my bladder. The surgery was a success and I am recovering nicely. Again, my thanks to Dr. Reines and his team.
