His bed side manner and ease of conversation with the patient as well as his thoroughness in testing, explanations and not feeling rushed help you to feel at ease and you know that you are in good hands. Moved to the Richmond area about 5 years ago. Dr. Cao was recommended to me so I had my first visit. He has steered me thru an angiogram and heart surgery. I find him to be an excellent doctor as well as a good man. Always takes the time to listen to my concerns.

Dr. Cao always takes the time to listen to my concerns and is prepared to offer helpful advice. He is very encouraging and not condescending as many doctors have been in the past with treatment I have received. I feel I am getting very good medical care from him and will continue to be his patient as long as I can.

He takes his time to explain, in detail, what is going on with your heart and the plan to get you to a healthier place. My husband goes often with me and Dr. Cao always gets my husband up to date on what is going on. He is the best.

Where to begin! Dr. Cao has been my Mom’s Angel! He’s saved her life so many times! He was quick to diagnose her and with his team get her valve replaced and my Mom back to being her spunky self! And when Mom hit a rough patch, Dr. Cao was so amazing and took the time to run from his office to come over to the ER to personally diagnose Mom and get a path forward to get her back on her feet! When he left our little hometown, I had to look him up to find him (only to realize he was 5 mins from where I lived) when Mom needed his care again! Thank God, our GP knew where he was also and directed us to him and of course, he came to the ER, gave Mom and me a huge hug and said “don’t worry, we’ll get you all better…and I’m so glad you found me!” Tears in my eyes as I replied “So am I! You have no idea!” So you see, this man is the best! I only pray he is still practicing when I one day need a cardiologist! He’s truly an Angel!

Incredible Cardiologist that will one day be recognized as one of the greats within his field. Dr. Cao’s expertise, cutting edge knowledge, and ability to fully articulate the issues stand in stark contrast to previous cardiologists that I consulted with. Within less than a month of transferring to Dr.Cao he presented me with a FULL report of my AFib ailment and heart condition, using his diligence and latest technology. With Dr. Cao’s guidance and emphasis not only on latest medical advances and procedures but a holistic approach of lifestyle, diet and natural supplements, I am now off beta blockers, off cholesterol medication, remain on blood thinners and there is a clear path forward. This after an original devastating diagnosis and being prescribed upwards of 6 serious medications by previous physicians and cardiologists I am now on blood thinners, supplements healthy diet and a gym regimen only. Dr. Cao has been an excellent cardiologist. He takes time during visits to answer any questions and he does it without hesitation. Dr. Cao seems to have reviewed charts before entering the room because he knows information for prior visits and any follow up needed. He is very reassuring and has an excellent "bed side manner".
