Unprofessional and Unreliable
On October 17 2024 I had an appointment set for November 11th for a consult. October 23rd I was asked to move it to November 12. My new appointment was for 9:30am. Check in time was for 15 minutes prior. I received a verification text to confirm the appointment the day before. At 8:57am the day of the appointment, when almost there I received a call from Gabriella one of her staff and told the appointment had to be cancelled due to a patient needing more urgent care. I asked to have the next available appointment and was told at that time, that the doctor would not be returning to this location but she could perhaps see me at a site roughly an hour and a half away. So very disappointed, I thought I found a doctor that could finally fix my double mastectomy issues.

Left me badly botched
Currently looking for a revision surgeon. The last consult could not believe how poor my outcome was. Dr. Wu performed two different lifts on my breasts. They look nothing alike. Nipple on right breast is a whole inch lower than left. Nipple on right is twice the size of left and misshapen. I’ve been through so much after a breast cancer diagnosis and now I have to go through another surgery to cosmetically correct this botched job. The saddest part is that my breast that had cancer looks good. It’s the healthy breast that she botched. The nipple is in the shape of home plate:( just absolutely devastating. Never saw her after my surgery or even had a follow-up visit. She left Penn.

Simply the best!
I am so lucky to be in Dr. Wu’s care for my breast cancer treatment. She is brilliant and thorough. She is one of the few doctors who performs the breast reconstruction and plastic surgery herself so that you do not need to add another surgeon to your list of doctors. Her incisions are impeccable and I can barely see the scars. She responds quickly to any questions I have, whether she responds to My Penn Med email or calls me directly to discuss. She is to the point/direct, which I appreciate. Dr. Wu has earned her title as one of the top doctors in America!

Left her office traumatized and in tears. She was rude and abrupt and cruel. Going through breast cancer and having multiple surgeries go wrong is bad enough but having to deal with her is not something anyone should have to put up with. There are many qualified and competent surgeons that are caring and don't mistreat their patients.

Dr. Wu performed my breast reduction surgery in January 2019 and I every day I am thankful I chose her as my surgeon. The entire process with her and the Penn Medicine staff was great. I am now 7 months out from surgery with minimal scarring and healthy symmetrical breasts. Thank you, Dr. Wu.

Dr. Wu is fast paced and a bit abrupt, but she answered all of my questions as long as I remembered to ask them. I'm happy with my results (breast reduction), and her office staff and nurses/assistants were very responsive to my questions, before and after surgery.

My experience w/dr wu was bad from the start & I’m kicking myself for not going with my gut. She came highly recommended. She was rude, interruptive & arrogant. She didn’t take me serious until I was very sick w/ fever & was tachycardic. It was her peer that brought me into the hospital. Upon speaking to me after she removed my implant she wanted to do a lat flap 1 month later. Nasty & all about the $$ Shame on UPenn, radiology punctured my expander & dr wu wouldn’t address the issue at all.

Dr. Liza Wu is a very knowledgeable, professional plastic surgeon. Her team of PA's (Laura and Sam)& nurses are so friendly & were constantly willing to make sure all of my questions and nervous feelings were at ease. Though a painful tissue expander experience, they made sure to make me as comfortable as possible. My husband and I felt like we came out of a whirlwind after a double mastectomy & her team delivered amazing breast reconstruction results. Highly recommend Dr. Wu and also Dr. Carla!
