Unprofessional
We had been patients for 4 years at Park Ridge Pediatrics. Among MANY issues I will highlight two. At my daughter's nine-month appointment, she was severely behind in gross motor. Dr. Villanueva said 'she is just pokey'. Im not sure what medical diagnosis that is but I took it upon myself to have a PT evaluation and found that she had low muscle tone. She has been in PT for 6 months now. My daughter missed her 15 month vaccination. I was never told to schedule an appointment for 15 months. Likely due to the nasty receptionist in front. Dr. Villanueva's response was 'We just have so many patients' Needless to say they now have two less.

Her response about tantrums
I took my 15 month old for her appointment and saw Dr Villanueva. My daughter had bad sleep and short nap because of appointment time, so she was crying more than usual. My daughter is a very happy and friendly child, but I ask how should we respond to her tantrums. I was very displeased and upset with her response. Dr Villanueva said “ignore her and walk away. You can also have her in her room and leave her there for one minute per age year. Or give her a time out if she’s hitting or throwing things, but if she doesn’t stay, sit her in your lap facing the wall and hold her tight for one minute per age year” I explained to her my daughter had a rough night because she’s teething and Dr Villanueva continues to reinforce her point by saying “if you ignore it now, she’ll grow out of it faster. It’s proven by a mom that videotaped her child stopping his tantrum when she was left alone in the room” Dr Villanueva left after saying this. No room for first time parent questions
