Dr. Lisa Camara, MD

I couldn’t be more happier. Dr Camara is very knowledgeable and attentive when listening to my medical issues. I’ve never felt better and am looking forward to many more years of her medical care.

This review is for a deceased family member who was Dr. Camara?s patient for more than a year. He did not need to suffer as he did, physically and emotionally, had the doctor listened to him more and actually made it a point to see him and order some tests rather than just email and speak a couple of times on the phone. (This was during COVID so distancing was the norm, but she never took the time to take a look at him, which could have triggered a different course of action.) It?s an intense and painful story that I won?t delve into here as Kaiser Permanente is well aware of what happened and how we all suffered. While I don?t want to hold ill will against the doctor, I would definitely choose a different one for my health care.

She is a wonderful, very friendly doctor, & always gives me excellent advice!

Dr. Camara is a very caring doctor. I've been bringing my mother to see Dr. Camara for the last 8 years and every time she brings a smile to my mother face. My mother has dementia and the way Dr. Camara speaks to her and interacts with her is amazing, we feel so blessed to have found her and wouldn't trade her for any other doctor in the world. She takes the time to answer any questions we might have and explains her answers to us so that we understand exactly what's going on. She is the BEST in our opinion, couldn't be happier with her. Couldn’t agree more with the negative reviews on here - Lisa was very non-empathetic during my visit with her. I have been dealing with really painful nerve pain in my feet and she basically told me to not have any hope that I will be able to get better from it and that it is highly unlikely that I will ever find out what the issue is. She even said that the pain I go through is normal and many people deal with it. At the very end of the appointment she said “I wish I could wave my magic wand and make everything better”. I wish I couldn’t been more assertive and called her out on her attitude during the appointment.

Comes off as pretty smug and seems more concerned with her conceited appearance while allowing her own preconceived judgments to containment the patient-doctor relationship in terms of facial expressions, body language, tone, and manner of questioning. Will steer clear of her for now on.

Dr. Camara is insensitive and did not listen to my concerns but instead she downplayed them. Would not recommend her.

I've known Dr. Camara for many years. She is a excellent, caring, smart doctor. I would recommend her to my family and friends.
