Excellent doctor in this field of medicine.
Excellent! He is well trained in skin infections. Recently had a MRSA infection. I have had them 4 times before in life. He put me on an iv pic as he did the times before and I was healed up. Staff was very nice. Been going to him for many years. He is a health professional. Would not go to anyone else for this type of infection.

Worst medical professional encounter
I found Dr Palau to be the most unempathetic, lacking the very basic of compassion. He was quick to be accusatory and past judgment. He made decisions without consulting and gathering the information needed. He lacks the moral compass to demonstrate human decency. In my opinion, his license should be revoked. Somebody needs to remind this doctor that he took an oath!

Definitely would send any family member to him
Dr. Palau knows his stuff! He takes a little getting used to, but it is worth taking that time. At first, he is all business. However, in private practice you have to be. I should know, I was an Internist in private practice for greater than 30 years! Once you get to know him, it becomes obvious that he is a dedicated professional. I have been seeing him for over 1 year now & recommend him highly. I would send any family member to him.

I was given a picc line and prescribed 10 days of antibiotics as a condition of release from the hospital, along with other medications at home. I spent nearly a week on daily antibiotics in his office when I met with Dr Palau for the first and only time. He had no clue why I was even there. He merely flipped through paperwork from my hospitalization, and prescribed more antibiotics without even checking to see my progress. I was told I would need to come in every day until my surgery (14 extra days) he then asked for blood work, which I’d already done the previous day, came back in the room and said my blood work is normal. So why the extra antibiotic treatments?? When I questioned this, and made it known I was not going to do an additional 14 days, when my infection was already gone, I was told Dr Palau said he would refuse to release me for my surgery unless I complied. Thankfully Dr Palau has NO say in whether or not I get my surgery. I do NOT recommend this doctor!!!

Great doctor but awful office staff. I had overpaid them, and have spent eight MONTHS! trying to collect my overpaid amount. I even had Aetna call them, twice! I recommend speaking directly with their office manager rather than a billing person!

Frustrated – Apr 30, 2020

The office is pushing patients through like cattle... Overbooked, not enough time for the Dr to prepare for followup visits, always a long wait and never an empty chair. When I went back for my followup after my STAT blood work, Dr. Palau acted like it was the 1st time he'd seen me (it had only been 5 days since the previous appt), hadn't even seen my test results, and his staff had to request them (which took another 20 min, after I'd been waiting in the waiting room for over an hour). The staff questioned me about getting a flu shot... I finally conceded and then they let me leave without giving the shot to me. After 3 visits I ended up being referred to another type of physician elsewhere and it took 2 weeks for his staff to get my records sent over to the new Dr., after several requests from myself and the new Dr office staff. I would never recommend this office to anyone critically ill... It's just a $$$$ maker, no concern or compassion...

Staff was distracted. Dr Palau was busy and dismissive. He's a terrible listener. Disappointed to see the lack of compassion and understanding that is essential in health care.

Lost my trust – Aug 21, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Palau?
I have been going to Dr. Paula for approximately a year. Dr. Paula appear to be a nice guy, but several mishap took place over the year I was seeing the doctor. I have been taking a particular medication for approximately 14 years, and was taking two tablets daily. However, upon on seeing this doctor him or his nurse wrote a prescription stating take one tablet per day. His staff is not courteous, caring nor friendly. Prescribing wrong dosage can cost a person their life or serious complications
