Dr. Adelson literally saved my father’s life. When dad was in the hospital, I felt his attending physician was not making the right decisions for him and actually causing more problems. Dr. Adelson was the only one on the team that explained everything, was completely honest and really care about my concerns. After another poor decision by his other doctor, I begged the insurance company to have Dr. Adelson become his primary doctor and they agreed. Within a day, my dad was getting better instead of slowly dying. He was a miracle worker in understanding and treating dad. I can’t thank him enough for his kindness, his honestly and his expertise in knowing exactly what to do to save my dad’s life. I am forever grateful and would give him a thousand stars if I could. You or your loved one will be in the best of hands with him… he is a true healer!!

Very condescending and unreceptive to listening to patient questions and concerns. Dr. Adelson attended to my mother while at Barlow - Valley Presbyterian. He was dismissive when listening to the concerns we had regarding her ventilator weaning. Every discussion we had with him was met with curt replies as he was slowly backing out the door. My mother thankfully improved in spite of his poor and inattentive care.

Incredibly rude receptionists who make in nearly impossible to make an appointment--even in urgent situations. I would definitely recommend going through another office.

Other review may be on wrong doctor. I don't think he works at Barlow. He is a pulmonologist. Not who treated his wife. Not in San Fernando Valley. Dr. Adelson has been my doctor for 30 years. He is caring, competent and accessible. I give him 5 stars.

One of the worst doctors I've ever encountered. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. No decent bedside manner, no compassion for his patients, and no enthusiasm for his practice whatsoever. I cannot vouch for any office visits. He was foisted on my wife at Barlow Hospital when she was recovering from a severe brain aneurysm. He flat out said in front of her that she would never eat, walk, talk, or speak again. Well, we are two years later and she has made almost a 95% recovery. He SUCKS!
