Dr. Lena Schaffer, MD

Dr. Schaffer has changed my life. I was miserable after having my last ovary removed and going through surgical menopause. With her recommendations and the bio-identical hormones she has prescribed I am feeling better than ever. She also got my hypothyroidism under control when no other doctor had since I was 13! I cannot thank her enough.

I have been blessed to have found and be able to work with Dr. Schaffer for the past 3 years. After several doctors could not accuratley diagnose my issues and ignored my concerns, she patiently listened to my symptoms and offered her EXPERT diagnosies which was accurate and I experienced life altering relief within a few short weeks. I wish I could use Dr. Schaffer as my Primary Care Doctor. She is the only doctor I have ever had that will call me or text me directly checking in and always showing concern and compassion about my unique case. She makes me feel I am her only patient and she is always eager to ensure we are getting the best results possible.

She is very interactive with me as a patient outside of normal office visits. She returns phone calls in a timely manner and never makes you feels rushed in person or on the phone. I would highly recommend Dr. Schaffer to anyone.

I have been treated by Dr Schaffer for the past several years to help with all the hormone issues that I have dealt with as I approached my 50's. My hot flashes, mood swings, irritability, brain fog and weight gain were just some of my symptoms I had to deal with on a daily basis. Since my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 30 yrs ago I was a little leery taking synthetic hormones as that could increase my chances of getting cancer. She returns my calls immediately and we meet once a year to go over everything. It is worth every penny & I plan on continuing seeing Dr Schaffer for a very long time.

Dr. Schaffer is a very knowledgeable, experienced and cautious HRT specialist. I would gladly recommend her to anyone seeking to restore one’s life’s balance. When I came to Dr. Schaffer for my first visit, I was experiencing bloating, hot flashes and other unpleasant symptoms. Dr. Schaffer gave me my normal life and looks back. She is very meticulous with her prescriptions and follow ups - frequent phone calls and detailed questions, always. I’m about to leave the state and am not planning on changing my doctor. Will be coming to Colorado for my follow up visits.

This Doctor knew very little about HRT and I felt like a lab rat most of the time I worked with her. Her bedside manner is unsure and confused . She prescribes HRT willy nillly seemingly guessing about what's correct..She prefaced every decision about her HRT prescriptions with a comment or two that would make me aware of how very little she knew about what she was doing, as though she wasn't quite comfortable taking responsibility for what she was giving me..I later was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer ..Was it a consequence of this doctors ignorance..not sure . But when I tried to contact her for her opinion about the cancer , she did not respond. This doctor is a radiologist, NOT AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST ...BEWARE..do your research and avoid this doctor if you are entering into the very dangerous and complicated world of HRT.
