Dr. Leigh Bretta, MD

Dr. Bretta has been my primary OB for both pregnancies and I was fortunate she was the doctor on duty when my son was born. She's always treated me with kindness, answered all my questions, she's super smart, and in my opinion a very talented OB. As a first time mom I appreciated having a confident, straight shooter type doctor during labor and delivery. I've heard others complain about her bedside manner and she is definitely not one to sugar coat things but she's never been unprofessional. I personally appreciate a doctor that means business but can also share in the joy of pregnancy and with Dr. Bretta you get both.

If youre looking for a compassionate provider that listens to you & will focus on your needs, go elswhere. This 2nd pregnancy came w/a Gestational Diabetes diagnosis. The "Dr" didn't even order a second blood sugar test as per the norm. She assumed the first was correct. I bring this up because redundancy is important in care. This was a warning of speed and habit overtaking the personalized care needed. Since the first test, all the sugar levels have been GREAT since then. But, the Dr brought up induction and we still need to listen. We believe this pregnancy is quite on par with the norm, so we wanted to get a weight estimate of the baby in case we needed to make the induction choice. The Dr. told us no. It seemed pompous & curt after speaking with other OB/GYNs they let us know there was no reason for this uncaring, rushed & kinda heartless denial. We are paying for a service. Why deny? We requested it! We decided to get rid of her in the 39th week of pregnancy. Think about that!
