Rude, Dismissive, and Condescending

One of the worst specialist experiences I’ve had. He had already decided before my appointment that he couldn’t help me. He was referred by my PCP. All my care is at MGH. I’ve been diagnosed with complex sleep problems and CSA since 2015. Sleep worse lately and prescribed meds not having same affect. Previous pulmonary sleep dr not in MGB system - at least that doctor showed some level of care for my situation and tried to help over the years. I’m calling patient advocate to complain - that’s how horrible my experience was!!

Very satisfied with Dr Sullivan
My doctor recently left Mass General Hospital and I was subsequently re-assigned to Dr Sullivan by the staff at the hospital. After reading some of the 1 star ratings on this site, highlighting a bad bedside manner, I was not looking forward to our first meeting. As it turned out, I found Dr Sullivan extremely friendly with a kind and affable demeanor. He is very bright, articulate, and attentive as well, even engaging with me in some personal small talk. He answered all of my clinical questions quite extensively and offered me some good advice going forward with my treatment. I don't know why he was given those low ratings below but I, instead, recommend him very highly and have given him a five star rating. Bill

The other staff were great. Dr. Sullivan was late and rushed. Not his fault but the demeanor of not caring is.

Very unpleasant experience overall. No empathy whatsoever and terrible bedside manner. Very judgmental and close-minded toward patient initial intuition about symptoms. Immediately went to treatment without explaining results. Very unhelpful.
