After experiencing brain zaps, withdrawals and heightened anxiety from bad the treatment of another psychiatrist, Lee Mendiola saved the day. He got me back on the right meds and together we found a dosage that worked for me. He’s patient and understanding, but also gives it to you straight and honest. I’m still recovering from the PTSD I experienced in the other doctors care, but I’m grateful I found Dr Mendiola when I did!

Would not recommend going to Mendiola, even to my worst enemy. He received one star rating only because zero stars is not an available option.

Kind, decent, knowledgeable, competent, caring
Telehealth
As a patient of Dr. Mendiola’s for nearly 2 decades, it’s been a journey navigating my mental health. I will say that the best decision I ever made was continuing my life when I wanted to die. Dr. M has played a pivotal role in making sure I stay put, earth-side. He has the ability to bring his kindness and knowledge together, and with his compassionate grit, will call me on the rug to show up for myself. He’s a quality person. A real good doctor. He feels for his patients wellbeing. I’m happy to be alive! I’ve always been in great care as long as I listen and provide feedback. Dr. Mendiola has experienced and competent staff that run the medical office like a well-oiled machine. They are in the mental health field…. That’s tough. Most of us patients are not easy people when we call in a crisis, so more power to them for their patience, grace, and understanding. As much compassion as they give us, we could give them some back. I do terribly miss in-person appointments, though!

Awful!
After a long process of filling out applications and setting meetings, Dr. Mendiola began our meeting by saying he would not prescribe me my dose of medication without listening to why I got to this dosage or even approaching me as a person with a history and medications that may have been ill prescribed. It was appalling. In the end I was actually ok to lower my dosage but he didn't care to even listen to me. I have seen many psychiatrists in my life and this one by far has won the worst award. His reasoning was that he was referencing some website Epocrates and this holy resource did not recommend my dosage. He did not make me feel like a patient or client but rather a thing that received medications only. I have not been made to feel this insignificant in a while.

I only got to speak once to the Dr. His staff was liberally dispensing medical opinions specific to me while refusing to convey my messages or concerns to the Dr.

Dr has been helping me for close to ten years. No one I've met over last 20 year exist that I trust more or that has legitimately helped me as much as he has. If he is your doctor then count yourself lucky. I know I do.

Dr. Mendiola and his staff are the best and amazing!! They have helped make a challenging time in my life bearable. Melissa and all the other cute guys and dolls there are super friendly just like Lee! He suggested the TMS treatment and I figured I had nothing to lose, but it changed my life!! I did not believe that was possible, but here I am experiencing a rebirth of my old self and feeling pretty darn good more often than not.I could not have done it without their kindness & compassion.

My experience with Dr. Mendiola (and TMS) was a very positive one. Not earth-shattering, but it definitely improved my depression. The first and biggest thing I noticed about three weeks into it was that I no longer had that black cloud following me around. I got out of bed more easily and out of the house. My concentration improved both socially as well as at work. I slept a little better and I dreamt more, which I think is a healthy thing. I would encourage anyone to try TMS.

I am so grateful that I came across Dr. Mendiola. He did for me what no one else was able to do ... or see for many years. He's incredibly skilled in his profession and also a genuine person whom I am glad to interact with. That makes it easy to discuss personal issues that affect your treatment. I can't believe how much my life has changed since I first came in to see him a year ago. My struggles no longer sabotage my life and I can function... that's everything.

First visit. He became angry judgemental. I had no hope. I am beyond help. Mind you my first appointment. He did not have a diagnosis for me. I literally got sick to my stomach and ran out the door. He was an awful man and doctor. I told my primary doctor what happened and he gave two other doctors to look up. I was quiet, timid, shy, edgy with Dr. Mendiolo the minute I walked in his office.
