Dr. Leanne Watson-Ficken, DO

Went for an initial visit last week to get established with a physician since I am new to town. I found the office staff friendly and helpful. The med assistant who checked me in and took my vitals was very professional. My visit with Dr. Watson-Ficken was excellent. She listened. She was open and personable. So happy I found this practice!

When my former doctor retired, I was in a rush to find a new physician. The most important factors to me are knowledge, quality of care, listening skills, time with patient and friendliness. I found all this and more with Dr. Leanne. The ones answering the phones, scheduling appointments etc which I find to be consistently aweful. Caroline is exceptionally rude. Additionally my scripts often don't get called in; I get calls and no VM and there is no way to leave a message after hours.

Dr. Watson is a very good doctor and I would still be seeing her except that her office is shared with other doctors whose staff are very rude. Their phones are only on between 9am and 4pm and they have no voicemail box for appointments, so if you have an early morning appoint and you're called into work, you have no means to let them know and you're berated once you are finally able to call and speak to a person. I would add that Dr. Watson's personal staff are very nice and courteous.

I was recommended to this doctor from a family member, I called to schedule an appointment and would not be seen because I suffer from anxiety, and the medication I take is considered a controlled substance. She will not take patients on controlled substances. I already struggle with the stigma of having mental health issues, and then have a doctor not even consider seeing you because of it makes me believe she is not a doctor who really cares about her patients. I would never recommend her.

Thorough, knowledgeable, caring and honest. I've found a new doctor!
