Listened and cares.
Dr Novak showed a great deal of care and interest in questioning both my wife and I from the wife's history and progression. I appreciated her honesty in what path we need to take even if it wasn't the easiest to do. She also offered outside readings to support what options we may explore.

Actually gives a s****. So individualized.
I have seen Dr. Novak for a year. She has always been so kind when helping me work through all sorts of things coming up. She is soft spoken and is absolutely not intimidating like so many doctors can be. She asks what YOU want to do for my treatments, and doesn't just throw meds as the problems. She makes a point to ask if you're understanding what she's talking about and acknowledges any and all symptoms you may be having.

Not HAES friendly. I went in for a mole check and was lectured about my weight the whole time. I've lost about 50 lbs recently and was told I could afford to lose more. She suggested intermittent fasting. When I expressed my discomfort since I have experienced disordered eating in the past she brushed it off with a snide comment about everyone needing to starve themselves once in a while. She also said that weight management is the cure for everything and that medicine is just opinion. She spoke in a condescending tone I can only liken to a Kindergarten teacher. I chose her because she is fat and hoped she would be kind and HAES friendly especially since I expressed I have medical anxiety. It was a horrible experience that left me in tears. I will never go back to her and would NEVER recommend her to anyone. She has no place being a doctor.
