My granddaughter who is almost 13 years old has been with Dr. Tyschen since she was 8 months old. She was born with a cataract in her left eye and has experienced strabismus in both eyes. Dr. Tyschen has always been kind and has taken the time to answer any and all questions. My granddaughter has had 8 surgeries to correct her vision conditions. I would highly recommend Dr. Tyschen.

My daughter was born with a very bad lazy eye. This doctor is a very busy person but he changed my daughter’s life. She would have been teased and tortured by her peers growing up. Her eyes are now laser straight, his work really does speak for itself. My daughter had multiple surgeries, I think 4 but it was worth it in the end. Every time I look my daughter in the eyes I am thankful for the work that he does.

Dr Tychsen is personable, kind, trustworthy, and honest. My daughters are very fortunate to be patients of his. They call him Santa Claus for what he has provided for them in making their life more normal with their sight. I could just hug him! Actually, I have...Thanks to him and the staff, we are truly grateful for their genuine care for them.

I have no idea if the reviews on this site are from very confused people or what but the Dr Tyschen that I met was nothing but kind, helpful, considerate, knowledgeable, and compassionate! He spoke to me with confidence and he spoke clearly so I could understand the best treatment for my sons. He acknowledged my relationship with my boys and knowing what would work best for them with his guidance and direction. He promptly scheduled my oldest sons surgical procedure, explained why he needed it and what to expect before during and afterward. My boys were getting a little antsy in the room because I had some questions as a first time foster mom and he was so patient with them when they began to get a little rowdy. I am nothing but completely satisfied and overly happy with him. Very confident in his knowledge and expertise. So maybe y’all met an imposter? I don’t know, but your description of Dr Tyschen is completely uncharacteristic of the Professional I met Wed July 24 at 1pm!!!

Just got a reply from a year ago's comment. This won't let me reply to that, so here is a new review. The Dr's response is exactly why this Dr. will continue to get such bad reviews. Thankfully, one year later, after getting a great Dr., there is a physical diagnoses and medication that has improved her symptoms. So, don't continue to tell me that the Dr. was telling me the "truth". Long term follow-up on patients like this might teach him a lesson.

Not only is he arrogant and rude, he uses your child as guinea pig to train his students. My child ended up with multiple surgeries to correct mistakes made by his students.

Dr. Tychsen's bedside manner is atrocious. He talks to us while staring into a folder with his back to us. He is unfriendly. He is impatient working with my child. He is impatient with us when we ask questions. He never gives us any information about "why" or about what anything means or what we should do about it. We have been taking our child to him for years and keep thinking, "Maybe he was having a bad day." But it keeps happening. We are looking for a new doctor. We do not recommend him.

Dr. Tychsen has a very poor bedside manner. I got the impression that he couldn't wait to get out of the exam room. He took almost no time with us even though we had questions before a major eye surgery for our daughter. He seemed genuinely bothered that we were taking his time and failed to explain what he would be doing during the surgery or why he would be doing it.

3 months infant daughter saw Dr. Tychsen at the Children specialty care at St. Louis today. The first impression was he was expressionless, seemed tried/bored to see us. He didn't care to communicate with us about our concerns and why we visited before he excessively forced to open our daughter eyes with his finger almost on her eyeball, no matter how hard she cried. Injured marks on where he pressed on her eyes lasted till 12 hours later, eye corners ripped from his brutal force. He is evil.

Rude, judgmental, harassing and humiliating would be the top four words I would use to describe my visit to Dr. T's office. He invaded my personal space without warning, slapped a prism on my glasses and did not removed it when i squirmed to get out from under his ranting rave. The visit ended with him in an office with the door open loudly recanting his derogatory opinion of my sons case where everyone could here his speech. DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR.
