Building Not Accessible
Dr Schmetterer is a doctor who specializes in Veins and Vascular diseases. He was the doctor who amputated my aunt's leg a few months back. She had a follow-up appointment with him on Wednesday, April 23, at his Youngstown office. Despite the fact that he works with many handicapped patients whom he has performed amputations on and requires follow-ups at his office, it is not handicap accessible. There were no handicap parking spots marked. There was no ramp to get into the building or over the curb. There were no automatic doors. My mother (a senior citizen) took my Aunt to this appointment as she is an amputee and cannot walk or drive herself and is wheel chair bound. She struggled GREATLY to get my aunt into the building because of the lack of accessibility. When these things were pointed out to the doctor, he became very argumentative and combative. He was insulting and even insisted that his building was handicap accessible despite it not being.

Got me through situation
I had a vein procedure done. Dr. Schmetterer explained that I could have some skin numbness and I did afterwards. He was very reassuring and explained that sometimes this happens even though saline is injected around the vein to protect the nerves. Just like he said, the numbness went away after 3 months and my leg is much better. I know 4 other people who had the same procedure with him and all had no problems. You can trust Dr. Schmetterer
