Dr. Lawrence Barnett, MD

Do not visit this doctor or go to this clinic. They are just in the business of gouging patients. Had to go see this doctor for acute pain in right knee…. after xrays it was determined that a cortisone shot was needed which was administered the same day. A fee of almost $400 was charged for that service. After 10 days my pain has not subsided and upon calling their office a message was delivered by their receptionist that I could come in for a follow-up visit but will have to pay another fee or I could choose to go to an ER (while were are in the middle of a pandemic). Doctor has refused to return my calls nor offered a follow-up visit even after paying almost $400 for no pain relief. This is the worst service that I have experienced from any doctor.

Dr Barnett failed to diagnose a relatively straightforward condition. I went to him with a swollen knee cap and he took an Xray said nothing was broken and there was no problem. The swelling continued and I went to another doctor and that doctor took a more complete set of Xrays and said the knee had arthritis and the cartilage was nearly gone. He has prescribed PT for muscle strengthening and probably injections for the "replacement" of cartilage. Other doctors in this practice are excellent

Went in with a shoulder, upper arm injury. He didn't take a history at all and diagnosed rotator cuff injury. Ordered X-rays for no reason. When I asked what X-rays were for he said to rule out arthritis. I specifically described an acute sports injury that he just diagnosed as a RC injury. Why are we ruling out arthritis? I imagine just to bill...Was very dismissive. I felt like I was imposing on his day. Gave me shot of cortozone and sent me on my way. I am now seeking second opinion.

Dr Barnett has remained in practice too long & needs to retire. He is no longer competent. He overlooked my husband’s broken hip for 18 days & told him he had nothing wrong, despite his terrible pain & inability to walk. He did not return phone calls & let his request for repeat MRI & X-ray stay on his desk for 2 Days before authorizing it. Tonight my husband had emerfency full replacement hip surgery. Dr Barnett did not even have the good sense to apologize.

Horrible Doctor.
