Rude office staff, wonderful doctor
Since Dr. Bailen is in a private practice, I feel like I have to rate my entire experience. I’ve never had a problem with Dr. Balin, however, his office staff was so incredibly rude over the phone that I decided not only to decline being his patient, but to forego NWH altogether for my Gastroenterological care. His secretary was completely unhelpful and borderline hostile. I was trying to schedule a colonoscopy which was for higher risk, and she was arguing that I didn’t need to come as soon as I claimed. My Dr disagrees. Then she accused me of trying to get her to cancel somebody else’s appointment so I can get in sooner. Really? Are that many people excited about colonoscopies that they want to jump ahead of other patients? I don’t think so. She became annoyed at the most simplistic questions regarding availability. If it weren’t so early in the morning when I called, I think that she had a long day. it’s shocking that somebody like her remains on staff.

I've been under Dr. Bailen's care for a decade or so and couldn't be more pleased. He is exceedingly polite and professional. Top notch in his filed and a great listener to boot. Spends all necessary time to ensure I've got the information I need. Great practitioner and diagnostician. Hard to beat.
