She refused to order an ultrasound
I sought a second opinion from this doctor after two Kaiser physicians dismissed my concerns and refused to perform an ultrasound. Unfortunately, this doctor also minimized my symptoms, performing only a finger exam and claiming no one would repair my mild cystocele. Despite going to the bathroom 30-40 times a day and having severe back pain, she didn't recommend further testing.I paid $500 for an ultrasound with a top urologist in Los Angeles and was diagnosed with both cystocele and rectocele. I paid nearly $7,000 for surgery, which I had to endure without general anesthesia due to the cost. The surgery has been life-changing, and had I followed this doctor's advice, I'd still be in chronic pain. She also claimed I didn’t know how to do Kegels, which was incorrect. Now, I’m still paying off a 15.5% interest loan to cover the surgery costs.

Dr. Skoczlas is one the most professional, competent and caring physicians I've ever encountered. I trust her entirely. She was one of two physicians who performed an 8 1/2 hour surgery on me to repair multiple prolapses and a complete hysterectomy. Words cannot express my gratitude towards her. I highly recommend her.
