Today, a family member arrived at North Raleigh Psychiatry for his first visit. He arrived in plenty of time for his 11:15 am appointment. Unfortunately, the appointment was scheduled for 10:15 am. A weird flaw in his Apple calendar caused the problem. He made the appointment while out-of-town in the Midwest. When he returned to Raleigh, the phone automatically updated to EST. As a result, the office staff told him that in order to schedule another appointment, he would have to pay $400+ out of pocket. We come from four generations of physicians in our family. We are appalled. Never has anyone in our family charged a patient such as exorbitant fee for missing an appointment or arriving at the wrong time. It can happen to anyone. Usually, if a patient makes another appointment, the penalty is waved. Beware.

DR Laura Katie Maxwell is a very sensitive psychiatrist. I wish more patients that are dealing with depression/anxiety issues would come and see her. She really cares and talks about her impression of how your doing with a psychiatry perspective. One of my appointments I was very sad and she picked up on this right away. DR Maxwell gives me hope that one day I will be able to feel better with less sadness in my life. Thank you DR Maxwell

My child had a severe panic attack took the prescribed meds they did not help so over 4 to 5 hours had taken 3 or 4 times the prescribed amount. My child called 911 to ask if she may have taken a harmful amount. She was not suicidal but trying to relieve the panic attack! The blood work came back with no toxic or dangerous levels. Dr Maxwell spoke very briefly to me said I had two options Holly Hill or released in my custody I ask for release into my custody . Dr. totally disregarded my request
