One of the best
Dr. Jacks is one of the nicest, most considerate, professional doctors I have dealt with. My son suffered a TBI at the age of 5. He is now 18. She was always so nice to him, making him laugh, talking to him about his interests like Star Trek and Doctor Who. She even made a Tardis on his cast. He has had several surgeries with Dr. Jacks. I wouldn't take my kid to anyone else. The staff is always right on top of things. If I need a form filled out it gets done with a timely matter and sent to where it needs to go. These peoples saying she is arrogant are mad that she tells them the way it is and doesn't sugar coat the truth. As they some, some people can't handle the truth.

As a child, Dr. Jacks was my surgeon for an ankle fracture. Because I was young, I would walk/put pressure onto my cast, which prolonged the healing process. I remember getting my x-ray during a follow-up appointment. As my mom and I waited for Dr. Jacks, she stormed into the room and got right into my face and demanded, in the most insensitive way, that I DO NOT put any pressure on that cast. Holding back tears, I couldn't believe a healthcare provider treated their patient in such a way. She is indeed a great surgeon who knows her stuff. But she's arrogant and lacks any empathy for her patients.

One of the worst meetings with a medical professional in my life. Dr. Jacks was extremely rude and insensitive. I dared to mention what the physical therapist recommended. Dr. Jacks acted insulted that I would consider other professionals opinions. She stormed out of the room with no explanation. I waited with my 2 year old over an hour before she finally came back into the room, slammed the prescription for braces onto the table and told me that she would not listen to me if I wanted to argue with her. All I wanted to do was discuss what the physical therapist had to say. Then she stormed back out of the room. I was in shock. I could not believe a doctor acted like that. I really believe this woman has mental health issues and should not be responsible for children or families in such a vulnerable state. She is unstable and actually scared me a little.

Dr Jacks has operated on my grand daughter numerous times. She is awesome. My daughter and I would not trust anyone else to do her orthopedic surgeries. Also her casts are always spectacular.

My son has CP and his orthopedic doctor at Vanderbilt did not want to give us any hope of "normal" mobility. Dr. Laura Jacks told us the first time we seen her it would be a process but not impossible. Within 4 yrs he was functioning without the use of a wheelchair. Within 5 yrs he was running 5K. She is an amazing physician and an amazing woman. Thanks to her determination and gift Timothy now leads a full amazing life. Thank you Dr. Jacks..

More arrogant than most doctors I’ve met, will not consider a parent’s concerns, completely disregards physical therapist recommendations, and in my experience, recommended a different surgery every time we saw her. She misdiagnosed my child. I would definitely not recommend her.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Jacks since she was 4 years old. Dr. Jacks is without question her favorite amongst the many doctors she's encountered; and one the highest quality pediatric specialist's I've encountered, period. My daughter has mild CP and is continuing patient. My older son saw Dr. Jacks when he broke is foot. I wouldn't see any other Pediatric Orthopedic. She is truly top-notch and always focused on her young patients ongoing quality of living.
