Dr. Laura Gaffney, MD

Dr. Gaffney is professional, a great listener and a superior provider. I always feel supported and motivated after a visit with her. I highly recommend her as a primary care doctor as well as her staff.

Dr. Gaffney questioned the validity of my dx of a chronic illness because I am autistic, without performing a physical exam of the affected areas or even asking questions about my symptoms. She failed to explain why she doubted my dx (which was from a geneticist, the gold standard for this dx) except for the comment about my autism ('lots of people with autism think they have that condition'). She also failed to explain what testing she wanted me to have done to confirm my dx, even though I asked for details. The physician she finally referred me to for re-testing was a pediatrician who doesn't even work with my condition, probably because his specialization has nothing to do with it. I felt disrespected and left out of my own care. It's honestly a travesty that Dr. Gaffney is part of AdventHealth's program for autistic and disabled young adults. While I don't doubt that she has provided good care for more abled patients, I caution disabled or neurodivergent patients from seeing her.

Dr Gaffney has been my physician for several years. She always takes the time to discuss any issues I’m having and make me feel confident that I’ve been heard. She is knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate.

She's been my Dr. For 30 years. Only one who wouldn't quit until she found out what was going on with me. Extremely kind and patient with me. Compassionate.

When Dr was told I only had about 3 weeks left on insurance, she would not see me or refill my prescriptions told me to go to a county free clinic!!!!!!!! Very very disappointed

Dr. Gaffney has been my Primary Care Doctor for over 25 years. She truly shows she cares about my health.

Dr. Gaffney is a brilliant diagnostician who saved my life when my former family doctor misdiagnosed me. She is caring, easy to understand and personable. We need more doctors like her.

Dr. Gaffney was fine on the first visit. Trying to communicate with her after that was an awful experience. Most of the emails are answered by her staff. The information they relay is frequently inaccurate. The Adventist health care system is structured to provide care based on maximum reimbursement for least amount of service. Would not recommend this doctor or this system.

Dr. Gaffney was wonderful until I discovered that there were no notes in my file reflecting issues discussed and recommendations made in my office visits. That created a problem when I contacted her office while she was away and no one on her staff knew what transpired in the last two visits. Her LPN was rude and condescending

Dr. Gaffney is an excellent diagnostician Her referrals to specialists are well thought out. She is extraordinarily patient and understanding, the best and most knowledgeable physician I've encountered in my extensive lifetime.

Dr Gaffney is a good listener who pursues a diagnosis thoughtfully and knowledgeably. I especially appreciate her ability to explain medical terms in a lay person's language. I have recommended her to others and those who chose her are equally satisfied and happy with her professionalism and caring.

Very easy to talk with. Takes time to listen and shares details in an easy to understand way. The only difficulty I have had is in communicating with the RN staff over the phone.
