Dr. Barber is exceptional! She literally saved my life. She is caring, professional, thorough, understanding and compassionate. Dr Barber was the only specialist who took the time to listen to my story and able to connect the dots and fought for my recovery. Her assessment skills are second to none and she made me feel energized and pushed me towards my recovery. My family and myself are very grateful to Venice Hospital, mainly to the critical care unit and Dr B! We highly recommended Dr Barber and her CCU team. Great place with very knowledgeable and exceptional compassion and dedicated staff. Please let Dr Barber and her team know how grateful I am for caring for me and absolutely blowed away as she supported and updated my family during that time.

In early 2012, I first saw Dr Barber after my oncologist called her after I completed a chemo session and could not breathe even while having on my oxygen. I had part of my lung removed about 2 months before that day. She told my oncologist to send me over to her office right then. I know 100% that Dr Barber saved my life. My lungs were very congested from the surgery trauma coupled with the chemo. Her expertise and compassion healed me. I will forever be grateful to her. Over the years, she went to bat for me whether it be fighting with the oxygen company or coming to visit me when I was hospitalized and in care of another doctor for blood clots in my lungs and legs 7 years later. Recently, due to the COVID-19 she is no longer seeing patients in the office, just the hospital. My next appointment will be with a new doctor and I’m sad about that and a little scared. Thank you for all you do for so many Dr Barber. Much love.

Dr. Barber is extremely patient and take the time to listen my mother complains over and over and she never interrupted her other than for given her a big smile and warming hug. Dr. Barber is very respectful and extremely knowledgeable. She engages her patients and incredible to us is her follow up with phone calls for results including during weekends. Gulf Coast Group certainly is very lucky to have her among their providers. Her office staff attitude is extremely poor and could be improved , however we really trust this doctor and we deal with her office staff or use the patient portal system,

Thank you Dr. Barber for the wonderful and professional care that you provided to my father. It was a truly blessing that he had such caring capable doctor at his side. Dr. Barber has wonderful bedside manners. She really emits an aura of ease for her patients while also involving them and their family in health, life and dignity at the end of life decisions. Best doctor we ever had; her knowledge, expertise and genuine caring actions made our loss much less unbearable.

Dr. Barber saw my husband once last year when she diagnosed him in the hospital and one other time in her office. She's too busy and has no concern at all for her patients. He's very ill right now and she just cancelled and the other doctor in her office can't see him until January. Not happy at all with the treatment.

Excellent physician. She is not only knowledgeable if not also amazing person. She support patients and their loved ones when and where they are needed. She really gave us unbiased advice, let my husband and myself participate actively in all decisions related to our health and health care. She assess each situation carefully, and help whatever the situation. Also we noticed that she work cooperatively with other members of the healthcare team and everyone think very high of her. She is always caring, concerned, compassionate and very communicative, calm, comforter. My family and myself we highly recommend Dr Barber.

Likely smart as a whip, with zero bedside manner. We had a do not resuscitate in place and I asked her what lifesaving equipment he was hooked up to and she said “your friend will wake up today and he will decide what is going to happen next regardless of what you signed yesterday.” I’ll just leave that to for you to figure out what you might interpret the doctor meant. She’s way too busy and important at the hospital to ask a question of and totally ignored me when I was in the patient room and they were making the rounds of the critical care patients. It’s been a very bad experience just trying to be somebody’s friend and help them out through the process at Venice Hospital. It’s all a mess !!!! I’m so grateful I can be here for him !

Although Dr Barber was ok, her staff is incredibly rude. I wrote a letter to Dr Barber to complain about this, but it was returned unopened. Calls to Dr Barber were also not returned. I stopped going to her strictly because of her staff. She needs to ask for honest feedback from patients.
