I went in for a consultation about a basal cell carcinoma. He was very thorough in his examination and explanation. Not intimidating at all. His office staff is very friendly and helpful. I never waited over 20 minutes. He did the removal and I will go back to him if I have any more skin problems.

Liked him for removing a growth... he was very thorough and kind. However, I went back to him for Radiesse. I called to schedule consult, but ‘nurse’ said no consult needed.. what questions do you have? I didn’t KNOW what questions to ask. After I had the procedure, I was terribly disappointed. Nobody said a thing to me about the HORRIBLE bruising & swelling I had. I looked like I’d been punched in the face. Good thing I didn’t have plans for the rest of the day! When I did more research, I feel the nurse should have asked ME the questions...ie: what supplements I take because a few of them I could have quit a week before and other things I could have done to reduce the bruising & swelling. Also disappointed in the results in general, but that might not be his fault.

I recently reviewed Dr Smith about the rude staff that he needs to fire unless he wants to have bad review My son was diagnosed with polychronditis . His primary. Physician office called 3 times to get my son medical records so he could refer him to a rheumatologist with no response. Called today and ask them to have my son paperwork of his medical records. They said Dr Smith was not there today and they couldn’t give out records without his permission. They voliated federal and state laws .

Very knowledgeable and thorough in his explanations. Great surgeon. Wait times were what I would normally expect in Longview with so few specialists given the population of Longview and surrounding cities. Just take a book to read or get on their wireless and catch up on emails!

3 office visits..... Average wait time 2 hours every visit. I can understand emergencies, or occasionally. But ALL my visits were over 1 hour and 45 minutes wait. Once you are being seen, nurses are coming in and out getting his okay and signature. Each visit with Dr. lasted 5-15 min.

Unless you are fine with waiting two hours after your scheduled appointment time, then this is the doctor for you. This is the case every single time I have had an appointment. His office staff are rude and cops an attitude when I address the long wait time. I tolerate it because he is the only doc that I know of that makes his own skin cream. So obviously he is a good doctor. Otherwise his office would be out of business.

He is a great Dr. His waiting time is about 2 hours. Not occasionally, but every time. They offer to reschedule however I drive an hour each way to see him. I don't want to reschedule. I want to be seen in a timely manner. I suspect his office staff is very stressed because they are not friendly. This will be last visit after seeing him for 20 years. Very unfortunate.

I have seen other dermatologists in other cities, and many are clearly only interested in cosmetic work and their own income. Dr. Smith is focused on health and appropriate treatments. His surgicical skills are superb, with results like a plastic surgeon. He is highly regarded and very busy, and office backups can occur when emergencies show up.

The front office staff should be enough to turn you away from this practice. The front desk clerk is the rudest individual I have ever had contact with. She made me feel as though I was bothering her by checking in. And DO NOT ask them any questions; you will be made to feel that you are the most ignorant individual to ever cross their path. While waiting in the lobby for my appointment, I thought, Why would the doctor have a staff like that?. Then I met the doctor. It all makes sense.
