Telehealth
Dr. Charneco told me I could quit a medication I was taking without tapering off gradually, which was NOT true -- I had horrible side effects and even Google says you should never quit this medication suddenly without tapering off. Did not seem informed.

Not transparent and responsive; worst doctor visit
My husband and I booked an annual check visit with her knowing that the visit was fully covered by our insurance. We specifically booked the annual preventative visit when making the reservation. However in the end we were both surprised by the outrageously expensive bills the provider sent to both of us for an "office visit" instead of the annual visit we booked for. This doctor claimed that she discussed with us the visit options and that we "agreed" to have an office visit instead of the annual visit we booked for. We both do not recall her discussing with us of the difference between office visit and annual visit or seeking approval from us to change the category of visit and charge us for something we did not know or approve. I don’t think it’s fair for us to receive something we did NOT ask for and get penalized for it. Worst of all, she blankly ghosted my message regarding her billing mistake.

If you are looking for that dream doctor who takes time, listens, remembers you from year to year, and pushes you to follow up on tests and referrals, Dr. Lara Charneco is right for you. Not only has she nailed the bedside manner, but she is a darn good medical doctor. Her diagnoses and prescriptions have saved me from a variety of irritating maladies. She has been my doctor for four years and I look forward to each visit.

When my primary care physician left AIMMG, I was assigned to Dr. Charnenco. Dr. Charnenco is quite thorough and methodic. She discusses various treatment options, and values my opinions when making decisions.
