I would give a zero star if I could. Almost killed my mother in law with miss information and miss diagnosis.

Lacks Compassion, Disgraceful
My uncle past away. Dr. Kurata has not signed the Certificate of Death & its been 41days. Legally he has 3d. The mortuary calls daily, the Dept of Health had to get involved & now he says he didn't even send for the med records yet!!! My uncle's body cannot even be claimed! OR put to rest. How terrible is that!! It's disgraceful. Dr. K, if this was your family member would you be this inconsiderate? Even the mortuary said they have never seen this extent of disregard. Wow.

Making Mourning Difficult – Sep 12, 2023

The most incompetent doctor I have seen in my life
The doctor is a very friendly guy and that’s the only good quality about this doctor. I had to ask repeatedly to get the proper paperwork sent for most, if not all referrals. Without the proper paperwork, I would have to pay out of pocket. On one occasion I had to physically go to his office and ask for that paperwork three times before they figured it out. I then started having difficulty reaching the office. When I called it always went to voicemail. In one of my messages, I told my doctor that I injured my leg, and that my leg was turning yellow, and nobody returned my call. I called a second time about my leg and left a message and nobody returned my call. I then decided to change doctors, honestly I should have done it 4 months ago. If you want lots of headaches, if you like to make multiple follow up calls that never get resolved, if you don’t want your voicemail messages answered, because there is nobody answering the phone during business hours, then this doctor is for you.

Once was too much
I was warned prior to my visit that I should cancel and find a different doctor. I didn't heed the warning. This doctor has such a warped sense of logic and approach to things that it made me question the validity of him actually being a MD. I didn't feel like he listened to my concerns about my health. It felt like he made a snap judgment about me and that was the end of it. I do not appreciate being talked down to or belittled in any way either. So in turn, I didn't feel like he could provide me with the adequate care I would expect from a primary doctor. His staff is not very professional with confidentiality amongst other things. As one patient to another, really do your research when finding a doctor. Read the reviews and if you need to, experience it for yourself to be the judge. But do not settle. After this appointment, I could only imagine any doctor I found was better than this.

Drops the ball on your health
Since switching my PCP from Dr. Kurata, I have gotten more answers in regards to my health. I have found out about everything that was left unnoticed and untreated thanks to the total disregard by his lazy routine checkups. He not once did a whole panel of blood tests, which would have shown things that affected other organs, etc. If you want to save your life like I currently am, please see someone who really knows what they're doing. Don't make the same mistake I did that I may now have to pay the ultimate price for. Go to a PCP that can look into your health regardless if you think you're fine. Get the necessary help from specialists if need be. There's so many things that can't be seen face to face, but a good doctor will do their due diligence and order the blood tests that will show things even they can't refute.

Rethink your choice
Dr. Kurata just doesn't have the time for his patients. If you have a simple cold, he's a great doctor. If you have anything more than this, look for someone else who will put more effort into your health situation. It took me months to find another doctor and I couldn't be happier I made the decision to switch. It's very frustrating to be waiting on results or call backs from the doctor and/or his staff. The staff changes so frequently I don't really know who answers the phones or relays information but he needs better staffing. The last time I saw Dr. Kurata I waited over an hour and no one came to inform me that he was running way behind schedule. I had another appointment to get to and had to reschedule it because I was at Dr. Kurata's office for almost 2 1/2 hours. This is really unacceptable.

Look for a better doctor
He started off really good but over time he seems to be more concerned about seeing the maximum number of patients by accepting new patients when he is clearly overbooked. The quality of care is severely lacking with no follow through. His staff constantly changes and the new staff gossip about patients. Very unprofessional and shocking. The guy who answers the phone doesn't take accurate messages which in turn, never get returned by the doctor. Numerous friends who also see Dr. Kurata have commented on this fact. A few got so frustrated they found a new internist. Best advice is just to find a better doctor who cares about your health and well-being.
