Appalling
She (I will not call her Doctor) spoke to my 90 year old father for maybe 90 seconds in the ER and then we did not see or hear from her again for six hours. We had to beg the staff to give us an update on his test results and condition. She visibly spent most of her time sitting at a computer at the nurses station, when she wasn’t doing that, she was strutting around like the Queen Bee. There is nothing about her that indicates that she gives a darn about patient care. Her behavior and attitude are appalling.

Should Be 0 - Adds Random Diagnosis to History
Absolutely appalled at her attitude and demeanor. Acted as though there was nothing wrong and I had no reason to be there when you could clearly see the EKG showing otherwise. Had no desire to listen to what I was saying or any of my concerns, wanted me in and out. I would never have even bothered to post a review, but I just discovered upon filling out forms for a new patient visit with a pulmonologist (shocking, right? since there was 'nothing wrong with me') that she added several diagnosis that I was not even tested for and she didn't bother to even mention she was doing this. All were added on the same date, which was that of my visit to the ER with her. And we're not talking minor things - we're talking hyperlipidemia (cholesterol was never tested, and the last time I had that done it was good), primary hypertension, and coronary artery disease - like what?! How is that even allowed? Imagine my shock seeing that today, a year later. My only hope is that she's no longer there

Does not enjoy her job and it shows. Very condescending, cuts you off as you are speaking, horrible bedside manner. I have been in healthcare and would never treat any patient so terribly. Never have I felt so disrespected in an arena that is supposed to be caring toward those that are in pain, stressed and looking for guidance. As a doctor, she is a disgrace to the profession.

I have never written an online review, but the treatment my mother received was so poor that I feel an obligation to let people know. My mom is an 82 year-old retired emergency nurse, and both of us are knowledgeable enough to understand the situation. Dr. Kilpela would not answer any of our questions, and when my mom took a moment too long to answer one of her questions she cut her off. I tried several times to bring up another concern I had, but she ignored me. She spent less than 3 minutes of my mom’s 9 hour visit with us, and she never came back to check or give us any information. There are no notes from her in MyChart. She should not be allowed to practice.

Hates her job
Terrible bedside manner. Eye rolling. Eye rolling at us not even trying to hide it. Acted as though we had no reason to be in the ER. Not here at a busy time and does not appear to be overloaded with patients. As a healthcare professional, I would not want her on my team. Not a fan of her being in charge of my mother’s care while here. Dr. by profession. Here as a daughter. Not impressed.

She was the Dr at St Elizabeth ER in boardman OH. If I ever have to return I will make sure I don't have her. Barely even spoke to me during the visit, condescending attitude, literally treats you like a gnat as if you are inconveniencing her. Seems annoyed with questions and just is not very personable or pleasant to be around. She just wants to get in and out and not be bothered- you can tell. The nurse was nice at least. But unless it's urgent I'll save my next visit for Salem Hospital instead, never had a rude doctor there and felt a lot more comfortable.

Extremely rude and condescending to both my 90-year-old mother and me. When my mother asked Dr. Kilpela a question, the doctor looked at me, told me to explain it to her, and left. She never came back to tell us how they were going to treat her. We found out when registration came in to register her for outpatient observation admittance. This is inexcusable, highly unprofessional, and she should be removed from the ER.

Kyra Kilpela was the most rude and condescending individual I have ever experienced. Also, my ER case was simple, however, she over-billed for several services, and billed for inappropriate consultations. I am now wasting time disputing charges. Do not go to St. Clair Hospital ER so long as she is there.
