What went wrong
The positives about my visit were that the staff, who were all friendly, were also very efficient in getting lab tests done and reported to my chart. They also made scheduling appointments easy. However, the doctor appeared to be rushed, impatient in doing my exam, and chose not to examine me thoroughly because of her apparent concern for time in preference to finding the cause of the problem. I would not recommend her to another until I’ve had time to further observe her bedside manner and patient care.
What went well
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Staff friendliness
  • Wait times
What could be improved
  • I didn't feel respected
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Didn't explain conditions well
  • Appointment was rushed
  • Didn't trust the provider's decisions

This was a Wellness Visit. I took my mother to Dr Ricard for the second time since my mother just wanted to see the same doctor she saw last time. Although I was not impressed the first time. I am not sure Medicare's strict guidelines is the issue since they give them these questions to ask and they go by that to determine what they will check. I did find her talking very fast and rushing with my mother. I could tell as the questions rattle off the doctors mouth my mother was attempting to keep up. My mother is a senior she should take her time to ask those questions to make sure the patient clearly understands. My mother doesn't have much ailments but it just seem this was a question and answer meeting, a few referrals and a little dismissive and be on your way. She did explain something when my mother had a question. I took my aunt to another doctor affiliated with Emory the same day and it was the total opposite.
