Dr. Kushal Patel, MD

I was referred to Dr Patel after having a bad fall on my knee. His PA checked me in and then I was directed to take x-rays of the damaged area. Dr Patel looked at those x-rays and told me within 5 minutes of seeing him, I needed to go to a trauma center. I was scheduled for a CT scan but before I could get an appointment his PA called me and directed me to a trauma center and one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the area, Dr Samuel Stephenson. I got checked in that night and had surgery 10 am the next day. Thank you and your staff Dr Patel for putting me first and directing me to where I could get the care I needed in a timely manner. I can't overstate my appreciation.

I was referred to Dr. Patel by my PCP after a bad experience with another surgeon for a torn meniscus and osteoarthritis. Dr. Patel’s approach is always to provide the least invasive modality to relieve pain. In my case after all of those options were exhausted and my pain wasn’t relieved I required a knee replacement. From the beginning and throughout my treatment journey I received nothing but compassionate and quality care from Dr. Patel and his entire team.Dr. Patel and Kevin Rushin, his PA always provided me with clear explanations of my treatment options and when it was time for surgery I felt very prepared and totally cared for. A healthcare team that is not only highly skilled but interested in their patients’ well being is not something you find everywhere - Dr. Patel and his entire team will be there for you. If my family has additional orthopedic needs, we’re happy Dr. Patel will be there ready to help.

I drove from Abilene and was so happy I did. I have been having knee pain for a while that has affected my quality of life. I didn't get much help from my PCP and told me I had mild arthritis and to take 800 mg of ibuprofen.Dr Patel discovered I had fluid in my left knee(he removed it)and 2 steroid shots later I have a much happier knee. Such a pleasant experience and worth the drive to a doctor thats goal is to help me be pain free and stay pain free.

Best doctor ever! He had performed shoulder and knee surgery on me. He also did my son’s knee surgery. I would highly recommend him.

Very clear in describing what the problem is. Does not do surgery unless medically necessary. Has a great team behind him! I recommend Dr. Kushal Patel for any sports injury, joint discomfort, or injuries from a fall. Get his opinion!

He is a poor communicator. He would not even tell me he prescribed medications and exercise plans but I would see it in my portal notes weeks after. If I did not ask a question he will be mute the full visit. His office does not respond to messages for weeks. PA is terrible. Find a better doctor with more experience and better office support staff.

He is wonderful

I consider doctor Patal one of the top orthopedic doctors in the nation. The fact that I'm an outdoor guy and already been through a number of sport-related surgeries, I kinda know what it's like to go through one.  The surgery that I had with Dr. Patal was one of the best one by far, it was a left knee medial meniscus and chondromalacia patella. Dr. Petal put me back in the track running within a very short period and a totally recovered knee. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Patel did both of my knee surgeries and was very successful. I can now walk upright with no pain and I am able to do a lot of things that I was unable to do before my surgeries. Thumbs Up for Dr. Patel.

Dr. Patel did a great job on my surgery. He performed a right and left carpal tunnel release and a left cubital tunnel release.

I am so glad that I was referred to Dr. Patel. I was so uncomfortable and in constant pain with my right knee. He was kind; gave a very thorough and complete plan to help. Physical therapy was started immediately and I received injections. The entire process was better than I could have ever hoped for. Dr. Patel's kindness, the terrific physical therapists (Samantha and Jessica) and the entire staff did so much to alleviate my fears. Treatment has been such a success!

I absolutely cannot say enough generous words about Dr. Patel. He is kind, caring, compassionate, effective and truly puts the care of his patients first. I highly recommend him to anyone who has any sort of orthopedic need.

Dr. Patel has been my comforter, guide, and advocate in getting the best care in the quickest way possible. My dislocated knee and broken patella injury happened on a Thursday, ER and referral that day to Dr. Patel, appointment with Patel Friday, and he got the hospital to open an operating suite early the next morning, Saturday. He minimized my suffering and executed the best strategy to ensure complete recovery. He assured me that he treated all patients equally with the intentions of full recovery, never profiling non-athletes in a lesser fashion. I have the best in knowledge, relatability, sensitive and proactive action for my return to health. He will be the core member of my health team for all time. He cannot disappoint. His core heartfelt standards would prevent it. Above all, he is a man without guile.

Dr. Patel took great care of our daughter who had a sports related injury. His office staff was efficient and he was very thorough with exam and instructions for care. I highly recommend him.

I just thankful and bless to have had Dr Patel. He made my experience with the treatment with my broken leg go so smoothly. Thank you Dr Patel for everything that you have done.

Dr. Patel is a wonderful doctor and takes care of his patients like if they were his family. He has wonderful bedside manner. Our whole family come to him if they need an Ortho doctor.

I would have to say Dr Patel is amazing and I was very blessed to have him as my surgeon. I broke my leg in the worst possible way as well as tore my MCL, it was very bad. I don’t think I could have done this without him. He was with me every step of the way. I am walking, back to work and back to my life. Thank You Dr Pate, for giving me my live back.

Love Dr Patel!! Very informative, personable. He showed interest in my daughter by taking the time to talk to her directly and on her level. Then spoke to me about her injury. I felt we were in very capable hands!
