Be warned
After treating with Dr McCammon for several years, it became apparent that he was leaning more towards retirement and no longer does surgeries but rather, uses interns in training. The problem for me was he didn't tell me, in fact, he lied saying he did the surgery but he didn't. When confronted, he downplayed the experience needed for the procedure as basically a non issue. Fine for him but I won't tolerate my doctor lying to me. I get more than enough of that from my political representatives.

It was not good last year, I feel he had ruined the rest of my treatment plan, he also told the nurses to not help me with adult diaper changing which is refusal of services for people with disabilities rather it's mental or physical disabilities. I don't know his problem is, but it's discrimination against me and my medical care. I don't feel comfortable working with him or his staff in the future, and I don't want to deal with these restrictions he has put on me affecting the way I get special needs care. November 2nd's visit was a complete nightmare that I don't want to repeat again every year. He is mean to me, and got the nurses to refuse to help me. I don't appreciate this refusal of service an care, and something has got to be done about it. This mistreatment really made me sad and depressed.

Dr. McCammon and the health care staffers are great. billing office not so much. asked in advance whether a particular procedure, at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital, was covered by my insurance and was told it YES. Days later I received a bill for $1022. My advice to you is to contact your insurance provider and find for yourself and not rely on what the billing office says.
