Extremely experienced, skilled, and kind
I had a quite large, rare brain aneurysm in an exceptionally difficult spot. I was informed by all the neurosurgeons I spoke with that my options were essentially to sacrifice the blood vessel with a mildly risky coiling (~10% chance of complications) that would leave me with significantly reduced vision, or a very risky bypass (40% chance of complications at some point in the future). I opted for the coiling prepared to lose a good portion of my sight. Dr. Vakharia performed the coiling flawlessly and made a carefully calculated decision to leave a tiny proximal vessel with bloodflow. The procedure was a complete success, and I completely retained my eyesight and motor control. They also knew exactly how to address my severe medical anxieties surrounding my long term condition, which has allowed me to remain much more functional. If you need a brain procedure and Dr. Vakharia is in-network for you, there's no one on earth I could give a more confident recommendation.

Dr. Vakharia made having brain surgery an honest to god walk in the park. Laid everything out in a clear and concise way from day one, was no nonsense and never judged me for the questions I had along the way, and of course did a wonderful job with the surgery itself. I would recommend him to any and everyone who is dealing with a mass and needing surgery.

Finally
Dr. Vakharia has helped my daughter beyond what a lifetime of doctors have been able to. He has sought counsel from many specialist, he has involved us and valued our input, validated the complexities of her case. We felt seen and heard and that he was leading the team. It is so refreshing to have a clear leader who values the team. He was transparent about the limits of his knowledge but didn’t stop there, he sought out (even internationally) those that had the knowledge. When doors shut via insurance or options appeared to come to an end he pushed further to attempt to help us. A rare find of brilliance and compassion and tenacity, I can say from experience with 27 years in on a complicated case!
