Excellent doctor!!!
Both my husband and I are patients of Dr. K and both of us have been very pleased with our treatment. I had lithotripsy and my husband had a TURP (transurethral resection and prostatectomy). Not only are Dr. K 's technical skills excellent, his bedside manner is truly outstanding! He answers all of your questions and does not make you feel rushed.

Not Confident in his Abilities as a Doctor
Refused to see me & gave no real explanation why. Was told to 'go see a doctor downtown.' Not sure what that's even supposed to mean. Does this doctor think urologists in the medical center or far superior to urologists in the burbs - including himself? Probably the oddest interaction I've had with a doctor's office, ever. I wouldn't trust this doctor to diagnose/treat anything.

Removal of Cysts on Atrophic Kidney
Friendly and generally concerned about possible infection from having them drained for the last 25 years. Top urologists in the city of Houston did not believe that cysts caused pain but I am living proof they do as I could barely walk by the time I went to Dr. Satyamoorthy. 5 Stars to Dr. K and his staff. THANK YOU . . . I have been pain-free since 2016!

I had a visit with the PA (Maelyn) first. She was awesome! She scheduled me for a return visit, at which time I saw her and the doctor. We scheduled an appointment for a TOT procedure for Stress incontinence. That happened this morning! I can't say yet, whether it worked or not. It didn't take long, the people at Cypress Surgery, on Huffmeister, were all awesome as well. I'm feeling ok. A little achy and sore, but certainly tolerable with no pain meds. Don't hesitate to have this procedure if it's recommended. Everyone involved was very nice, especially Dr. Sathyamoorthy!

Great experience with Dr Kumaran and his staff
Dr Kumaran is incredible, Great medical office, wonderful and warm experience from start to finish. Appreciate Dr Kumaran taking time to go over the diagnosis clearly and treatment options. Was referred over by my general doctor and can see why. Highly recommended.

Poorly Run Practice
Dr Sathyamoorthy is professional and has an excellent bedside manner. However, his practice appears to be disorganized, understaffed, and poorly managed. Every visit I have made to see Dr Sathyamoorthy I have had to wait in the the lobby anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour after my scheduled appointment time. The most recent, and LAST, appointment was for a vasectomy. I arrived 25 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. The waiting room was nearly full. He does share an office space with a surgeon; but all of the patients were waiting to see him. Thirty minutes after my appointment time I was called to the receptionist desk to make payment for the procedure. At that time, I was told it would be another hour before I would be called back. I scheduled this procedure several weeks prior, but it became obvious to me that there is no method to how regular visits were scheduled in relation to in-office surgical procedures. I cancelled the vasectomy and will find a new Urologist.

Staff never booked my follow up appointment
Dr. Sathyamoorthy after my initial visit told me to come back in thirty days for a follow up appointment. Was given the date and time by his staff. Showed up on that day and was told I don't have an appointment scheduled. No apologizes from the staff. Just a blank look and went to what I assume was reviewing times available. I waited three minutes without hearing anything and left. Staff never tried to reach me by phone or email. Too bad. I really liked Dr. Sathyamoorthy and the medication he prescribed did work.

Pathetic office management! Be prepared to waste your time in his office, if you can get thru to get an appointment. I physically went to the office, but receptionist refused to give me an appointment. Finally when I did get in, (mind you I showed up on time); seen by the Dr. after hour and fifteen min. Of waiting. Actually the staff left the office n has turned off the lights. Dr. apologetic. Told me he wanted to do a procedure. Another three weeks, and when I showed up, once again waiting game… hour n five min. to be exact. I was prepped for the procedure. Waited! Put on my clothes and left! Get a call from the office that they are ready to see me. Hello, it’s good bye! I have the last a piece of my mind. Any recommendations for a urologist? By the way, Dr. S, is a good Dr. Nothing against him.

He is an AMAZING Dr. He helped me when I needed him in an emergency. May 2019. This review is way overdue, my apologies. I had a kidney stone removed by him and he did an excellent job. He is an incredible Dr. and has a great bedside manner. He is kind and caring. I HIGHLY recommend him. He saw me in the hospital as well as in his office and with both visits he was not in a rush, he answered all of my questions and made me feel like I could ask him anything.

This Doctor is amazing! He has improved my quality of life taking care of kidney stones that had given me pain for years. I applaud this hard working man, not only is he the Doctor but the Surgeon as well! Saving me both time and money! I agree he needs a bigger place and a few more staff members to answer the phone BUT I always get a call back when I leave a message. The guy, John, making appointments customer service is exemplary. I urge anyone needing a Urologist to come see this doctor, he is worth the wait!

Dr. Sathyamoorthy is a warm, caring, super-proficient professional Dr. with fine expertise in the Urological discipline/s. I found him on Google. Feellike the Lord guided me to this gentlemen. Super sharp, superior/outstanding intellect, the warmest most caring bedside manner with a second to none pedigree in his field. After seeing 2 other Urologists that did not know my issue, when seeing Doc. S., he instantly knew what we were dealing with!! Talk about amazing! Very conservative and responsible professional that tries all options for patient's best interest. I fully trust this professional and have the highest degree of respect for him. More than likely will go fwd. with a much needed procedure for pain. He is a straight shooter, very confident, but realistic as well, no surprises with him which is great. It is without hesitation I suggest him for anyone's urological needs. Long wait, but well worth it, he cares and listens attentively!! Staff terrific. -Mr. Mike Jaster

Besides being a great doctor, Thais man is such a fine human being. Being told you have kidney cancer is a tough and bitter pill to swallow. Dr. K, was so kind (along with his staff) throughout this whole process. I was never rushed. Everything was explained thoroughly. When I started to get a cold right before the surgery, they were quick to talk to me and get me the help and meds I needed. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Sathyamoorthy and his staff.

The staff was quick to get me in and I saw the NP. She ordered tests, it took an ultrasound and then a CT (2 weeks worth of testing). I had to call both times for their interpretation of results after waiting a couple of days. The nurse was short with me today and completely inaccurate in her statement that kidney stones only hurt if there is a blockage. Never even saw/talked to the doctor. Never was asked to make a follow-up...disappointed. Will look elsewhere for care.

Great doctor! Even when the practice is really busy he spends the time necessary to take care of you so you are not rushed. Did my TUPR where we found cancer in the prostate then had my prostate removal surgery both with better than excellent results. The staff is great! Rob L.

Dr. Sathyamoorthy stepped in for my normal urologist while I was in the hospital with kidney stones and a kidney infection and he has since been my doctor for all urology related issues. I trust him completely, he explains everything well and genuinely listens to you and answers all of your questions. I have never felt like he is rushing out of the room which most doctors do. These characteristics are often hard to find in a doctor these days, especially a specialist.

Dr. Kumaran Sathyamoorthy / Dr. K, has the best bedside manner. He is kind and considerate, caring and compassionate. His office is professional. Very poor ethics! called to get second opinion on my son's treatment from other doctor as he is not on our insurance. Although I made it very CLEAR that we will be paying cash his office visit which was $225.After couple hours appointment lady called me and said Dr Sath is refusing to see him because our insurance will not cover further tests or surgery! Seriously?he didn't even see his tests or him to began with! SO bottom line is he cant milk the system and insurance, so why bother.Horrible!
