Dr. Kristen Shepherd, MD

Dr Shepherd guided me through my pregnancy in 2021 when i was diagnosed with Intrahepatic cholecystitis. She stuck by my side during my emergency admission in the hospital and was a wonderful doctor throughout.

Rudest doctor I have ever come across and pushing me to get surgery instead of trying everything else first. Giving me an attitude and evil stare while she talks to me.

Any other Doctor would have recommended a biopsy in my situation. Luckily I consulted a plastic surgeon two months after she gave me a “normal” breast exam and that plastic surgeon said you need to get an immediate MRI. He helped me get the tests I needed to diagnose my breast cancer. She rushes to get the PAP done so she can leave the room. There is no such thing as a “well woman” exam where she asks how everything else is.

Dr. Shepherd recently performed my hysterectomy. She not only changed my life, she saved my life....and that's not an exaggeration. I honestly don't know how much longer my body could have dealt with what I was going through. Dr. Shepherd is an amazing physician and I would recommend her to anyone for their gynecologic or obstetric care. Also, her office staff is incredible! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to meet your needs

Dr. Shepherd was not compassionate or curious and told me that if I was not comfortable with her that there are many other providers for me to choose from, so that is what I will do.

I was taken right on schedule. Dr.Shepherd gave me a thorough exam after taking my medical history. She was pleasant and very easy to talk to about my concerns. She spent a great deal of time with me. I was very pleased with the entire visit and especially with Dr. Shepherd.

Horrible. Dr. Shepherd is completely incompetent. She shared false medical information that I knew (and anyone that has common sense) was not accurate. When I questioned her, she caught an attitude. She cut me off twice while I was trying to express my concerns. She rushed the entire appointment, even though we waited 40 minutes after our initial appointment time. I know doctors work hard and Dr. Shepherd may have been tired that day giving us false medical information but, my husband and I left more confused than when we first arrived. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

We’ve been seeing Dr.Shepherd for close to a year now. She delivered our daughter at Sarasota and we couldn’t be happier. Dr.Shepard is awesome and her nursing staff is amazing as well at the office. Everyone is always nice, knowledgeable, and willing to stop and listen to any questions we had. We drive pretty far just to be seen by Dr.Shepard and to deliver at Sarasota Memorial. When baby number two comes we will be back her again.

Awful. She’s often very tired and lets medical students see her patients on her behalf.

This office has become too large and the customer service is now lacking. The physician will spend very little time with the patient, the office staff will not call or fax orders promptly if needed, and the secretary is very rude, The office wait time is always 30-45 min after scheduled appointment time. I would not recommend this practice.

Dr. Shepherd delivered both of my two children and provided excellent care both times. In my first pregnancy I had gestational diabetes and she was able to guide me through that so I could maintain safe blood sugars for my baby. In my second pregnancy I had a placenta previa and a lot of bleeding and she explained the risks and next steps to me very well. Also, she stayed late, even though there was someone on call to cover her after hours, to deliver our son personally. Great office staff too.

Dr. Kristen Shepherd hurt my granddaughter on her head, before she was born, when she made a whole with a needle into the bag of waters. Hopefully my granddaughter will not keep any damage from this accident.

Horrible!!!!!!!! I'm not sure what she missed in med school, but this doctor definately does not know women's health. After my appointment with Dr. Shepherd, I had to seek out another medical opinion which left this "real" doctor shaking his head at her lack of expertise in basic women's health. Don't waste your time on this one.

Sweet doctor and has generally good bed side manner, however, she sees far too many patients in her day to take the time to appropriately discuss exam findings. If you call with a question a nurse will call you back, not the doctor. If you request the doctor, and you notify them it's urgent regarding a complication, it apparently takes her more than 24hours to call you back. If you are waiting on important lab results it takes a good few days to hear from her and again it's the nurse calling you

She was a great doctor from the first visit and through out my entire pregnancy. Very happy with the entire office and my experience with this practice.

Terrible service to their patients and very little knowledge from any of the nursing staff. Will not be bringing any of my family here anymore.

Dr. Shepherd delivered my first baby girl in June...she was wonderful throughout my entire pregnancy. Always took time to answer questions and was very helpful in reassuring me of what is happening. Never had more than a 10 minute wait in the office and the staff was always wonderful and remembered who I was every time I walked in the door. The nurses were great too... always called back asap whenever I had a question.

Dr. Shepherd has deliver two of my babies. She is absolutely amazing! One of the most caring doctors around! Most of the reviews on here are mostly about the receptionists and nursing staff and have nothing to do with her practice. If you can let the other stuff go and realize they deal with patients for many other doctors then the experience is normal!
