Billing nightmare
I've been a patient of Dr. Gillian for 12 years with no complaints. After my annual visit in 2024 I received a $45 bill for a refraction test which was not performed. Assuming this was an overnight, I called and left a message, got no response. Over the next week I spoke to 2 practice reps who essentially accused me of lying, and one polite woman who sent an urgent message to the practice manager who had not returned my calls. Nearly a week later I heard from her, saying Dr. Gillian had re moved the charge. I made her admit the test had not been done ('understood') and asked for an apology. She said she had apologized at the beginning of the call (untrue) but would 'send a message to my team.' Wow

Great Cataract Surgery Experience
I recently had my cataract surgery performed by Dr Gillian of Georgia Eye Associates. After discussing all options with Dr. Gillian and staff, I decided to go with the Light Adjustable Lens option. I chose the LAL option among several though it is more expensive and takes up to 4 to 6 weeks after the cataract surgery itself to fine tune the LAL lenses according to the preferences of the patient. The result has been astounding. I felt like I had gone far back in time as I can now read fine print from prescription bottle labels, etc. I am free from prescription glasses doing chores around the house, reading or watching TV. I do, however, still use sunglasses for outdoor activities. I am very satisfied with the outcome. Dr. Gillian was straight forward and executed with a high level of confidence. The staff at the Buckhead office, were kind, attentive and highly competent. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr Gillian and staff at Georgia Eye Associates for your Eye Care Needs.

Run Run Run! This Kris is a COWARD AND INCOMPETENT
My experience mimics this. And the other ones here that have had issues. He performed cataract surgury. My eyesight was immediately worse then it was prior to the operation. Kris will attempt to gaslight you behind closed doors at the office and be condescending. Fact is he Kris is nothing more than a used car sales man of his feild. He is a coward and a liar. RUN RUN RUNI too had a bad experience with Dr. Gillian. Cataract surgery went bad. When I went in for follow-up and explained my problem his response was ' I don't know what to do'. Not what you want to hear from a doctor. I now expect I'll have permanent damage and he doesn't respond to correspondence. DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR

Light Adjusted Lenses for Cataract Surgery
I am so excited with my new eyesight! Dr. Gillian replaced my cataracts with light adjusted lenses. My blurred vision, difficulty with depth perception, and 35 years of wearing contacts and reading glasses are over! I have 20-20 vision for reading and 20-15 vision for distance. The world is in focus without any aids! These lenses were adjusted to my individual needs with ultra-violet light and the process took a couple of months. But the time of wearing protective glasses during this process is definitely worth it! When I found Dr. Gillian, he was the only ophthalmologist in Atlanta using this lens. He told me that he had implanted 100's of the LALs and agreed to evaluate me for their use after my cataracts were removed. He and his staff could not have been more helpful and kind. He is an excellent ophthalmologist and I heartily recommend him!

Cataract surgery
I was very pleased with the results of surgery, and the follow up as well. I knowingly knew what to expect and the treatment, that were going to happen. The implant are rather new. And, one day will be common and cheaper to others in the future. No more glasses. Eddie Davis

Negligent Surgeon- No post-surgery care
Dr. Gillian is not true to his own words as stated by himself in his 'Care Philosophy'- '...try to be very approachable and listen to them so I can ensure that all of their questions are answered, and they'll get the treatment they came for.' He did not respond to my wife's medical queries at all when she is having severe complications after her cataract surgery. All he says to a specific query is 'everything has been taken care of'. He is, in my opinion a supereon with no post-surgery patient care. I noticed he spends minimum time with return patients and does not care about the patient's recovery path. He seems to be avoiding patient's issues. Based on our experience at this time, I urge future patients to take a second opinion before selecting Dr. Gillian for any eye-related issues. We are very frustrated with his post-surgery treatment. I sincerely hope he becomes aware of his negligence to his honorable medical profession and starts taking care of all his post-surgery patients.

Very pleased with cataract surgery results
I had cataract surgery this past April by Dr Gillian. I chose the multi focal lens implant. I could not be more pleased. I have not worn glasses since the day after the 1st eye surgery. My 3 month follow up demonstrated excellent vision (20/20). I found the office staff to be kind and caring. Dr Gillian explained all of my options. I am so grateful for skilled surgeons such as Dr Gillian. I have recommended him to friends and family and will continue to do so.

Biggest regret of my life...
I regret choosing Dr. Gillian as my lasik surgeon. He dismissed my concerns before surgery, misinformed me about my risk for complications, missed critical components of my pre-op screening, permanently damaged my eyes, gaslit me when I sought help, and failed to provide proper follow-up care. At the time of this post, I am 9 months post-op (I had lasik in March 2022) and I continue to suffer from severe dry eye that has made my life a living nightmare. I am in terrible pain every single day, and my poor ocular health is now an issue I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. This review just barely scratches the surface of the complications I’ve had to deal with since this surgery. I’ve spent 6k and counting trying to heal my eyes. I was told that my post-op care would be covered for the entire first year, but that is only true if your surgery goes perfectly, because Dr. Gillian is not equipped to handle complications that arise from lasik surgery.

Worst Doctor
This was our first time seeing Dr. Kris Gillian and it will definitely be our last! My father (who is 70+) recently had an accident and fractured his orbital bone and he had a black eye. The ER had referred us to see Dr. Gillian. When we made the appointment we were told they take Medicare/Medicaid but when we got there they said they do not and charged us $220 for the appointment. Once the doctor stepped in, he had fought with another nurse and brought that anger into the room. He spoke to us aggressively and he told my father directly that he didn't care about the issue he was having. After doing research about the injury itself and speaking to multiple doctors the treatment that he needed was supposed to be given by an ophthalmologist, which Dr. Gillian is, though in the appointment he kept stating that it "wasn't his job." And he would not listen to my concerns.

I went to see Dr. Gillian in August and I called before hand about payment . To have my eyes checked being dilated it was going to be $45, so I asked if they took cash and they said yes, I went to see Dr. Gillian, had my eyes checked and went to check out with cash in hand. They said i didn’t owe anything, which was surprising. I was executed. I recently received a bill in the mail in October 16, 2021 and it was from a billing company saying I owed $45, which I then payed by check over the phone on 10/18, but they still have not withdrawn my account. It is now 11/1/21! I have been trying to get this settled every other day. They keep telling me they are going to take care of it. I wouldn’t recommend this practice, because of what I’m going through. I think if Dr. Gillian knew this he would probably be upset. That’s money owed to him.

My name is Janet C. in July 2018, for a long time I have not met a Dr.so kind and patient and understanding as Dr. Gillian. I did surgery in August for cataracts, He explained to me what the procedure was and how long it would take. I am very satisfied and happy with the choice I made with my eyes. I would and am referring all my friends and family to see Dr, Gillian as he is the best, to this day I know in my heart I made the best choice, and may God continue to bless his hands.

If your eye doc says you're ready for cataract surgery, celebrate! The change is miraculous. Everything will be brighter and colors will pop. You'll once again see that trees have individual leaves (no longer just a greenish blob) and that grass grows in individual blades ... you will rediscover nature. As for GEA and Dr. Gillian, I don't think you can find a better surgeon. Office staff is excellent as well.
