I was a patient of Dr. Tollefson’s for a year and I cannot recommend her enough. She really listens to your concerns and looks at the whole picture not just symptoms. She always let me decide if I was comfortable with her treatment plan and knew all possible side effects. I will miss her.

Thank you
Telehealth
I have seen and worked with many different mental health providers both personally and professionally and none have ever been as helpful, kind, dedicated, educated, validating and outright wonderful as Dr.Tollefson. I am genuinely outraged that anyone would have the nerve to say the things about her that they have, as I know they are in no way shape or form true. I am not quick to trust and yet she gained mine in record time. Psychiatrists will always get a bad wrap from someone somewhere because of those that intend to misuse their services. However, if you are looking for true, honest, accurate, and ethical psychiatric care, I recommend Dr.Tollefson. Thank you for all that you have done for me and for making mental health treatment a safe space for me again. It is no small feat. You will not regret in choosing her.

I saw Dr. Tollefson for just over a year and she is a fantastic provider. Followups were not the usual 10-minute 'Any side effects? Is it working? Here is a script see you in 3 months!' visits that are so common with psychiatrists. She took a holistic approach to my care and was very aware of the intersection between mental and physical health. As a chronically ill person I've found that is a rare quality in providers of any specialty.Dr. Tollefson was conservative with prescribing and took into account the effects of my (very long!) list of other medications when making recommendations. She always informed me thoroughly of my treatment options, including any pros and cons. She was responsive to messages and always directed me to reach out between appointments if needed. My treatment included non-pharmacological approaches in addition to medication, like lifestyle interventions and talk therapy. I found her to be deeply caring and supportive as well as very skilled and intuitive.

Don't believe every angry review you read.
Telehealth
Dr. Tollefson has been my Dr. For over a year. I just read these reviews and I am embarrassed for the people that have been so damming and arrogant. She IS : Calm. Kind. Loving. Respectful. Educated. Patient. Easy to get a hold of. Easy to schedule with. She can not be manipulated into dispensing pills to anyone looking to self diagnose via Google searches and self help books. Sorry. If you want some one who weights your life experiences, traumas, goals and integrates therapy techniques into every meeting. Set up an appt with this kind human. I've had countless Dr.s over my 45 year lifetime and she's a keeper. Ps. She was able to get me off a pile of pills that i was previously mis diagnosed for 19 years. I am now med free and finally in trauma therapy where i should have been from the beginning. Im going off disability going back to school and staring my career thanks to this amazing human. So do not trust reviews written in anger, arrogance and because they did not get their way.

I gave up b/c of her

RUN AWAY. Ive spent most of my life struggling with my issues and not getting help because of my past experience with doctors, so it was a big deal for me to seek help. Not getting treatment at all would have been better for me than to see Dr. Tollefson. After spending hundreds of dollars I didn't have and months with nasty aide affects, I left her treatment worse off than when I started and more debt. Try someone else.

NOPE
Kirsten Tollefson treated me like I was disposable. She dismissed my crisis for her own benefit and refused followup. Do NOT seek care from Dr. Tollefson

Dr. Kristen Tollefson was very cold, closed minded & ignorant when it came to BENZODIAZEPINES: HOW THEY WORK AND HOW TO WITHDRAW (aka The Ashton Manual). Dr. Tollefson carried herself with an arrogance when presented with factual medical infomation, backed by documented studies, for her to consider. Dr. Tollefson was not considerate enough to even "look into" what I was bringing to her attention in the begining; especially being ignorant to the issue of Post-Acute-Withdraw-Syndrome; this issue causing symptoms, like insomnia & fatigue can last for months after the physical dependence has ended. I litterally had to call & call for 2-3 weeks straight & work my way up to management ladder in order for THE CORRECT actions to be taken. I can only hope Dr. Tollefson humbled herself & educated herself so she is up-to-date with new-found studies for the sake of any future patients; especially the individuals who do not have an advocate to speak & stand up for them. Facts always trump arrogance

I had the privilege to work with Dr. Tollefson on a professional level and had the opportunity to see her caring for her consumers. Dr. Tollefson is easy to work with, and her compassion for the consumers was great to observe.
