Suspect She was good prior to COVID
My husband trusted Dr. Baxter for many years. The first meeting I experienced was in the hospital after giving birth to my first born child. I had had COVID over 2 weeks prior to my child's birth and the hospital did not require my husband or me to even wear a mask, but she told my husband that he needed to wear a mask around our newborn baby. At the 2 or 3 day old appointment, she made us go through the COVID wing, when my husband never tested positive for COVID and our baby and I didn't have COVID (anymore). I did not get a good sense when we did well check ups, and she has a zero tolerance policy for vaccines...even when my child had a bad reaction to a vaccine. If I did not wish to give my child one of the CDC recommended (not required) vaccines, she basically was going to kick us out. Her nurses were horrible as well. I always felt pushed around and never empowered. Luckily, she moved her practice and we went to a new pediatrician, who is SO Wonderful. Wish I had left sooner.

Dr Baxter is amazing
I have taken our two kiddos to her since they were born. She has always been there for us when we needed her and worried about our kids. She takes the time to listen and be very understanding about any issues the kids have. We are sad she is moving but we are happy to take our kids to see her at another location. I am not sure about what the other person was saying here. Masks being required at a doctor's office during a pandemic makes sense.

The world is changing, and not for the better
I have known Dr. Baxter for 20+ years, and she used to be an amazing pediatrician. My son has a history of asthma & Dr. Baxter has been his pediatrician since birth. She is very aware of his asthma history and has treated him for it for over a decade. After being exposed to hay, which is a known asthma trigger for him, he was having an asthma attack and his home medications were not working. Additionally he got some hay in his esophagus which caused his uvula to swell and partially block his airway which kept the asthma meds from taking full effect. We went in to see Dr. Baxter who then would not go past the doorway and required him to wear a mask while in distress. This goes against the CDC guidelines. Knowing the circumstances of why we were there, she then would not treat him without an unrelated Covid test first. Unfortunately I think Covid has left her terrified to treat patients correctly. She couldn’t seem look past everything being Covid to actually take care of her patients.
