Cold, cruel doctor
I cannot overstate what horrible care I received from Dr. Warner. I went in for a standard operation that turned into the most painful and horrific experience I have ever had in the medical industry. She was cold and cruel, never asked for any consent during the procedures or explained what was going to happen or how it would feel. I almost blacked out from the pain of these in-office procedures and she did not care at all. She made me feel like asking her any questions was annoying and did not offer up any information of her own accord. This made navigating medical care an absolute nightmare as I was confused and scared and felt like this doctor did not care about me at all. She was late for my surgery, and right before I went in told me if it wasn't successful there would be bigger consequences for my health. Something she had never mentioned before, nor had I even had time to ask.

I had an appointment with Dr. Kim Warner for a Pap smear exam. She informed me that she was going to have a pelvic exam and explained that it consisted of putting two fingers in my vagina to which I consented. Dr. Warner didn’t follow through with the pelvic exam and instead performed a rectovaginal examination that Dr. Warner never mentioned she would perform. Dr. Warner was harsh when performing the rectovaginal exam. She inserted her fingers with excessive force and was also harsh when pressing my abdomen. Not once did she ask if I was feeling any pain or discomfort during the exam. Dr. Warner did not stop when it was obvious that I was feeling pain from my reaction during the exam. All this was done without a nurse being present. I’m 50 years old and I’ve had many Pelvic exams throughout my life and also had a rectovaginal exam done twice and never have I felt so much pain during these procedures. I had to take painkillers for 3 days to ease the pain in my lower abdomen and rectal area. It took several days for the sharp pain I felt during a bowel movement to go away and the sharp pain in my belly has not gone away completely . These exams can cause discomfort but not to the point where I have had this much pain in my abdomen and rectum for days. There was no need for Dr. Warner to use so much force while performing this exam. After this incident, I became aware of my rights as a patient and I found out that when these exams are to be performed, one has the right to ask for a nurse to be present, and also has the right to request an interpreter if the patient doesn’t speak English. The doctor must inform the patient at all times what is going to happen in the exam and one as a patient can reject exams that one does not want to do. Also one as a patient can ask at any time of the exam to stop doing it. The patient may also file a complaint if they feel their rights have been violated to the Advertist Health White Memorial Organizational Performance Department and the Medical Board of California.
