Good doctor
Primarily saw the PA, Dr Welch came in at the end to review, but all are very thorough for a full body check. Everyone of the staff are friendly and professional.

Professional
Dr Welch was very professional. He tells you the truth. Might not want to be what you want to hear, but he tells you like it is. He even tells you not to waste your money on expensive creams and stuff, that won’t work for your concern.

Top Notch Surgeon
I am an intensivist, and I have been dealing with polyps for at least a decade. I never really took care of myself until one of my patients told me I needed to see a doctor. Quite embarassing. I never wanted to jump into surgery, but every medication my allergist and Dr. Welch tried provided only temporary relief. I had surgery 3 months ago. It is early in my recovery, but I finally understand why patients say they should have done X sooner. Amazing being able to breathe and smell and taste. Little things we tend to forget are important.

If your looking for an excellent surgeon who can fix your sinus problems then Dr. Welch is someone you want to talk to. After a previous sinus surgery that lasted about 6 months I went for a second opinion with Dr. Welch who looked at my blood work and asked me to see an immunologist to help manage my sinusitis. He did surgery on my almost 2 years ago. The recovery was real tough but he helped me come through to the other side. I rinse every day now with a steroid and I feel like this was life changing for me. He is direct and to the point. I can email him with questions. Very satisified with how things panned out.

Breathing better
I found the staff and Dr. Welch to be very helpful with my breathing problems. I was told by another that I needed all kinds of surgery but in the end Dr. Welch recommended a couple of prescription sprays that have worked beautifully.

Completely wrong diagnosis
Dr. Welch's attention to detail is so bad that he couldn't even correctly input my feedback into his notes. I needed to submit a request for correction of my medical records because of Dr. Welch's incompetence. Stay away from this doctor.

I saw Dr.Welch years ago when he was at Loyola. Dr.Welch helped save my life back in 2012. Dr. Welch in my opinion is one of the best doctors out there. He listens and genuinely cares about his patients. Most recently I had to do follow up with him and he remembered me. and spent a hour listening and was just complete awesome. Thanks for being the best Dr.Welch.

Dr. Welch is a rock star of a surgeon. To preface this review, I am absolutely terrified of hospitals (and surgery in particular). That said, from the first pre-op appointment I knew that he would be a perfect fit. Great bedside manner, but more importantly, he took the time to explain not only the benefits, but also the potential risks associated with the procedure in question (septoplasty and turbinate reduction). Nothing seemed rushed, and he seemed to genuinely be interested in helping me solve my lifelong sinus issues. Long story short - the surgery was perfect and I felt completely comfortable from start to finish. Additionally, he even took the initiative to spend ~20 minutes talking to my mom in the waiting room after the surgery while I was in recovery which is a true testament to his character. I just finished my post-op appointment and I honestly feel like a completely new person. Needless to say, my initial due diligence paid off and I strongly recommend Dr. Welch.

I thought going to Northwestern downtown I would be in very good hands with an excellent dr. The 1st time I went to Dr Welch I was impressed. He told me he could fix my problems without surgery which all of my previous drs wanted to do. I continued to get sick every 6 weeks over 6 month period of time. My last appt with him he said I can not help you anymore, you need surgery. I said I already had 4 surgeries and I am in the same position. What would you do differently. He said open up your sinu
