Horrible Doctor. Refused to help my mother who has been his patient for over 20 years. She almost died from a misdiagnosis and treatment. When she finally got help at another hospital in another state, he refused to do the treatments and prescribe her the medicine she needs to live. He told the doctors at this well known highly rated institution that he was done with her and didn’t want anything to do with her.

As a new patient Dr. Varden spent no time discussing my current health or future diagnostic needs and care. Dr. Varden wrote two prescriptions for the incorrect dosages. He seemed to be going through the motions and could care less about me as a patient or even a human being. If he does not like being a doctor he should find another profession. IN short I would not take a stray dog to see him!! My recommendation is to Beware and find another care giver!!

This was my first appointment with Dr. Varden and I have to say he is the most caring and considerate doctor in south Alabama. He takes time to listen and if he doesn't know what is wrong he will do what is necessary to get to the core of the problem. He is an AWESOME doctor.

Dr. Varden is a very caring, knowledgeable doctor. Our family has visited him with a broad spectrum of issues, and he has helped us for every need. He is also very understanding and patient, and he gives a good plan for improvement. I absolutely love my visits because of who he is!

Dr. Varden has been my primary care physician for over 20 years. What I like about him is: 1) I perceive that I am getting his full attention with any of my questions and concerns. 2) I never feel rushed or that he is in a hurry. 3) He addresses all of my issues in a plan or recommendation that I can understand. 4) The care and treatment I receive from him is always effective.

I was a patient of Dr. Varden's for over 10 years. For most of those years, Dr. Varden was an excellent PCD. One of the main problems was his nurses. He had trouble keeping one. When he hired a really good one, she quit. I never had any problems with waiting, staff or him or trusting his decision making until he hired one particular RN. THINGS REALLY CHANGED! I was prescribed an antipsychotic for severe depression and became psychotic.HE DISCHARGED ME FROM THE PRACTICE. HIPPOCRATIC OATH?

Our entire family has seen him for years as our primary Doctor without any problem. In the last month he has discharged my mother out of the hospital still in severe pain and without diagnosis 3 times! We have always used Mobile Infirmary for any health issues, but after the callous lack of care by the doctors, we will now be dealing with ANY other health system but them.

I would recommend Dr. K. Keith Varden to family and friends because he takes time to listen to you. Explains everything to you and recommend labs & appropriate tests when he feels they are necessary. Only one reason I would hesitate to see him is he will prescribe meds not in his realm of Specialty at times: this caused me a very bad side effect. I became psychotic and I became rude to his staff & everyone near me. He refused to see me anymore after this. The med had a an extremely long halflife

He is very friendly and always puts me at ease. Dr. Varden also answers all of my questions and is very knowledgeable. He makes me feel like I am his only patient! The whole staff is the same. Everything is organized and they go above and beyond with me including a private consultation with a diabetes nutritionist. He is by far my favorite doc, and I have a lot of them!
