Dr. Kevin Schmidtke, DPM

My husband, a dialysis patient saw Dr. Kevin for severe heel sores over a three month period. Dr. Schmidtke negligently discouraged my husband, (who was clearly suffering with neuropathy foot ulcers) from seeking care from First Health’s Moore County Wound Care team. This increasing dire medical condition was instead dragged on by Dr. Schmidtke week after week, month after month. Finally today, after a dozen requests for a referral to a Vascular physician, we learned how serious this foot nerve damage really is. Vascular surgery has been scheduled for next week, but because of these wasted 90 days, the severity of the issue may require an additional more aggressive, risky 4-5 hour procedure attempting to save my husband’s foot. All this has been so frustrating because two months ago I googled and correctly diagnosed these neuropathy ulcers. I have zero medical training, but did a better job assessing the problem than Dr. Kevin did after 3 months. Truly disgraceful, tragic care.
