WORST office staff on the planet
Terrible back office staff - won't refill prescriptions when the pharmacy calls, you have to make every call yourself, and it usually takes more than one call because they never get it right the first time. Staff actually kicks you out if you're sick (even if NONE of your symptoms are "covid-like". Phone system says "call back during business hours", doesn't tell you their hours, then hangs up without letting you leave a message.... What's the point of a phone system that only lets you leave messages if someone's there (and they don't pick up the phone when they are). Dr Shiller is a nice guy, but the office staff makes dealing with him almost impossible... even if you DO get to a room, you're waiting 20-30 minutes before he shows up.

He is fine if you’re feeling well, but not if you’re sick. Recently, I tested positive for COVID and so immediately called for his advice since I had some underlying medical conditions that could cause complications. He simply said to just ride it out and that was it. That was worthless. He should have recommended an antiviral, which are common in 2022, or monoclonal antibody therapy. But no, just ride it out. Thankfully, I went to CityMD, who immediately advised the antibody therapy, which worked out well. But Dr Schiller did nothing. So, it’s time to move on.

I have been seeing Dr. Schiller since 2006. Another specialist referred me to him after having problems with other doctors. He is also one of the few doctors who sees his patients in the hospital. When I asked him why, He stated, “Because that is where my patients need me the most.” After a few years of staffing issues, they now have the most competent staff I have seen! They are friendly and caring, and they do return calls. You may have to leave a message, though. You may wait a bit, because you are not rushed out, and he will take any questions and concerns you have. I would definitely recommend him, and have!!

He is an upstanding physician. I have been going to him for 9 years. He lets me explain how I am feeling and gives me every option, including the pros and the cons. Couldn't recommend him more.

Dr Schiller takes his time with every patient. He has NEVER rushed me out of the exam room, or made me feel pressured to hurry through conversations. He follows up with other doctors I've seen, and makes a point of coordinating with them for treatment. You WILL wait (30 mins or longer) in the exam room to see him, but that's because he's taking the same extra time with each patient. It is worth waiting. His office staff are friendly and efficient - they have gone the extra mile for me often

This office is the most incompetent I have ever been to. This is not due to the Dr., but the result of the office manager. After visiting the office and supplying insurance card, approximately six months later I received a bill for hundreds of dollars. After almost a year and a half and many calls to Catholic Health Services it is still unresolved. One billing rep admitted they couldn't have submitted to my insurance because the office didn't supply the insurance info with the claim.

I have Been a patient of Dr. Schiller’s for about two years. In that time I have found him and his staff to be extremely amenable professional and have never had any problems making appointments or seeing the doctor. I often communicate with him via email or have messages on his website and he sends a response or one of his nurse responds within a couple of hours. I am very pleased with the care I received and would recommend him with out reservation.

I don't get sick often and don't visit the doctor often, but the last two attempts I have made to see "my doctor" have been left with phone calls to make an appointment not returned. Not very nice staff.

I've been seeing Dr Schiller for over 5 years. He is extremely thorough on going over all my medical issues, which unfortunately are many, every time I see him, which is pretty often. Recently I had a minor surgery procedure at Stony Brook Hospital. The medical staff including the doctors told me how impressed they were with the extensive medical clearance report they received from Dr Schiller's staff, noting it covered all my issues. He always spends a more then adequate amount with patients

Spend over an hour in the waiting room and five minutes actually speak with him for a prescription refill appointment. He doesn't take or make phone calls to you with any questions. Has hardly any office hours. I had to call the on call physician once in an emergency and the physician called back and said that the office is open they were just receiving too many phone calls. Spends more time talking to his computer than understanding his patients.
