Appointment
I agree I would never recommend her to anyone. I had never seen him before. I had an appointment scheduled at 4 o’clock that day I took the day off from work. I was on it all weekend because I needed my medication for my depression 30 minutes before my scheduled his office called and cancel, and he had no available appointments for the rest of the week and basically left me out to dry. He does not care evidently about his patients. I’m so glad I did not invest my good time and money on this lack of character doctor! Find someone who cares your mental health is important, and so is mine. Evidently he doesn’t think so.

I would never recommend Dr McPherson to anyone. I identify with those who feel he has no empathy. Stephanie, his assistant is rude and unreliable. They do not follow through with requests I've made several times to correct my medication. As long as she has worked for this doctor she should understand insurance. I believe she and he are both lazy and irresponsible and should not be in a practice when seriously ill people need a kind touch. They do lie, also, making a living by shamming patients and insurance companies.

I would never recommend Dr. McPherson to a friend who actually wanted to be treated. I get the vibe he really enjoys treating military/veterans and sees civilians out of obligation. Certainly has zero bedside manner with women. I saw McPherson for over a year and he did nothing more than play chemistry kit with my brain unsuccessfully. I never got relief for my symptoms of severe anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Each time I went in for an “appointment” (7 minute med check — you’ll wait longer in the waiting room to go back than you will actually see him) he didn’t even look over HIS notes and remember what he had prescribed me or even diagnosed me with. I had to remind him of my treatment every single time. I was paying out of pocket for because he was out of network - he didn’t care. Didn’t even tell me one of my anxiety meds could cause seizures and when they did he stated “well, everyone is entitled to one good seizure.” One of the worst medical providers I’ve ever had.

Dr McPherson treats my family member with respect. He uses the minimum amount of meds necessary to achieve best quality of life. He respects my family member’s wishes. He is a very good psychiatrist and we are lucky to have him in Columbus, GA

I'm very happy with Dr. Mcpherson. He's a good listener and is helping me wean off a medication I don't need. I also enjoy his little dog who is there sometimes in the waiting room. A homey touch!

After trying for weeks to get in touch with his office his staff was rude and completely lied to me. I have never talked to a Dr office with such an unprofessional staff that clearly has no regard for the patient's feelings or needs. VERY unprofessional and makes me never want to go bacl

I have tried calling his office for a month but they will not return my calls and are rarely open. I left multiple messages pleading for them to call me back and never heard a word. Completely unacceptable and I am VERY upset with his office.

Not impressed with his bedside manner or handling of the problem. My 90 year old father saw him for anxiety and depression. Dr. McPherson did not relate well to him on personally or as a medical professional. He was nice, but distant and impersonal. All he did was prescribe medication and renew the prescription when needed. He may do well with younger patients, but not with the elderly. Calls were not always returned and the office staff was not always receptive and accommodating.

I'm a military Veteran who is usually reluctant to open up about my PTSD and Anxiety. Dr. McPherson clearly understood me and it was comforting when I found out that, he was a Veteran as well. I've have been going to Dr. McPherson over two years and I truly trust him (Veteran taking care of other Veterans). I encourage any Veteran who is on the fence and is looking for someone who understand and who has walked in your boots, I strongly encourage you schedule and appointment with him.
