Dr. Bylund is a rarity in medicine - kind in his dealing with patients and a professional having superior expertise. This was evident after I finished 5 sessions of high intensity radiation on my prostate cancer. He came when it was over and we had an informative discussion about the future, then asked me to “ring the bell” (an old prizefighting bell) in front of the nurses (who also were great as were the radiation therapists). A great end to one of life’s not so great experiences, made better by the UR staff at Highland Hospital!

From the moment I met Dr. Bylund, I was impressed. His easy going, low key attitude made me feel at ease during a very stressful time. He explained all my options in a clear, concise way. He and his associate spent an hour with my wife and myself reassuring us and making me believe I was more than just a number. Couldn't be happier. In fact I feel extremely fortunate that I am being treated at Wilmot Cancer Center.
