I am a new patient of Dr. Bigelow's. I have had 2 office visits with him and on both occasions his office staff was very nice, welcoming and thorough. As for Dr. Bigelow - the same - nice, welcoming, thorough and knowledgeable. YES, my appointments were a bit faster than some, however I talked, he listened. He asked questions, I answered. And then he got right down to business ordering the necessary tests and scans needed to diagnose my problem. I was very pleased with Dr. Bigelow and the outcome of my diagnosis. I highly recommend Dr. Bigelow.

Rude and Refused to Listen
I saw Dr. Bigeloe recently. He asked, “Why am I seeing you today?” Before I could finish my first sentence, he interrupted and talked over me. I waited for him to finish speaking. Once again, I tried offering my history. Again, he talked over me. I responded, “Please allow me to finish answering your questions. I’ll give the information you need to provide me with safe medical treatment.” He blew up, saying I was confrontational. He said, “Look, I get to choose my patients, and there doesn’t seem to be a match here,” and he left the room.I have a rare condition requiring specific attention to anesthesia details. Once, overlooked details caused my pain condition to worsen, leading to a second spinal cord stimulator implant. Bigeloe never let me explain those details.Other patient-focused urologists are out there. As a patient, practitioner, and advocate who has testified before congress, advocating for patient’s rights, I get to choose my doctors, and I have, and it is NOT Bigelow.

The Doctor's technique cannot be topped. Yes, he is quick, but he will be slow if asked.

Discriminatory
I went in to ask for my urine to be tested and to figure out why I keep having constant UTI's. I have been in and out the ER since March and he kept focusing on the fact I am transgender and had surgery and not the fact he needs to simply test urine and be a doctor.

Unsure
Every appointment I’ve had with him has been less than 4-5 minutes at best. He quite literally walks out the door as he’s relaying information. There’s been no opportunity to ask him follow-up questions, so I have no idea if he’s a good doctor or not.

Good doctor - terrible caregiver
By all accounts, Dr. Bigelow is a very good doctor. However, he rarely displayed any real concern for me and my questions. I "inherited" him as my doctor when my doctor retired and I was just starting a treatment plan. By the time i became aware of his terrible bedside manner, it was too late to switch doctors, so I continued. In my many visits during this process, he was always in a great hurry to get our visit over, as if he was always rushing to the next patient. Several times I had to stop him as he was leaving just to ask a question. I had a surgical procedure and he never visited me during my 2 days in the hospital. Nor did he inform my wife after the surgery, keeping her unaware of the results. He seems interested in "quantity" over "quality" of visits. In the end, I had a terrible experience with him and couldn't wait to have my association with him end. Find a doctor who actually cares about you and your experience.

Terrible Doctor
If I could give this office 0 stars, I would. This is by far the worst doctors office I've ever been to. Dr. Bigelow was terrible. I was being seen for over active bladder and on my second appointment, Dr. Bigelow examined my bladder but never told me what he found which I was told later by the office manager that he was supposed to tell me what he was seeing as he was doing it. He walked in the room, inserted the camera 2 times in a very non-gentle manner and then told me I also had kidney stones and left the room. That was the entire appointment. I was expecting to actually talk to the doctor but that did not happen. I left this visit in tears and just sat in my car and cried because of how I was treated. I voiced my concerns with the office manager and she was ruder than can be. I was very shocked at her attitude towards me over the phone. She also told me that a prescription that was being given to me was for kidney stones and Dr. Bigelow told me it was for over active bladder.

This office is the most mismanaged place of business. The surgery scheduler (Katherine) doesn’t check with your insurance company to see if you need to be preapproved. I called my insurance company and they said I do need to be approved. Katherine argued with me but finally she called them and yes I do have a approved code! Dr Bigelow’s nurse called me on a Monday to tell me I needed to be on another antibiotic (6 straight weeks). I asked his nurse to have Dr Bigelow call me. I had not received a call by Wednesday so left the nurse a message. Her voicemail is only in Spanish! This is an office where people speak English. As of Thursday I have not received a message from the doctor or nurse. And I still have an UTI. My surgery is scheduled for Monday at Chandler Regional. They called today and took all my medical history. Said we will see you Wednesday the 3rd. I told her the surgery was Monday the 1st. I have all my emails and papers stating the 1st. Again Katherine failed.

Dr Bigelow treated me for prostate cancer with a robotically assisted radical prostatectomy. Before choosing surgery, Dr Bigelow went through the different treatment options, explaining the pros and cons of each and answering questions I and my wife had. A combination of the biopsy results and family history made surgery the logical option. Learning you have cancer is never a fun thing, but Dr Bigelow helped put our minds at ease and made us confident in choosing surgery. It's now more than a year after surgery, and I have absolutely no regrets. My recovery has been excellent, with virtually no incontinence after only a few days, and recovery of other functionality over the past year. I credit my recovery and positive outcome to Dr Bigelow's significant surgical skills.

I went to Dr. Bigelow for a high PSA. I felt like I was being herded into the office. Very crowded and first thing was handed a specimen bottle to give a urine sample. Waited to be called. In the exam room some lady, not sure who she was, talking on her phone told me to pull my pants down so she could do an ultrasound on my bladder. I though she was asking me a question and I answered only to be told I am on the phone. Great patient care. On the table outside my exam room there were at least 60 specimen bottles of urine sitting. I am not sure if they actually tested them or not. Dr. Bigelow came in looked at my blood work I had provided and your PSA is high we need to do a CT Scan. He told me I was retaining urine in the bladder and said we needed to schedule a prostate biopsy. He wrote a prescription for FloMax and and antibiotic to take before the biopsy. Had the CT Scan done before Thanksgiving and was told the results wouldn't be done until Monday. Monday I called to g

Impossible to get prescription renewal even after being told three times they took care of it. Pharmacy called daily for 8 days now, we drove to office, called office and still no follow through. Out of meds now. Time to find new physician. Second time this has happened.

This doctor is a joke. Was referred to him from my PCP, got in right away - from the get go he was rushed. I did everything as asked, even had the surgery scheduled. Only for it to be cancelled during the pre-op exam.. he decided I needed to see Urologist outside of his practice. Tip - don't ask him any questions. He gets flustered and upset too easily. Horrible with patients.

Doctor is fine. Office is a total disaster. So bad it's a reason to choose another doc. Never answer the phone, don't know what to do and how to help. Provide incorrect information. Leave the phone on "lunch mode" even after the stated hours for lunch (which is two hours of being offline). When you do get through you are put on hold for another 10-15 minutes. Good luck reaching someone there unless you are a new patient.

Dr. Bigelow thoroughly researched my wife's very rare illness. Came to each appointment well prepared. Provided clear information about the seriousness of her disease while also giving us great hope. His realism and professionalism gave us the tools we needed to make a very difficult decision and we always felt the freedom to make this our decision. He and his excellent team supported us before, during, and after surgery.
