Dr. Ketan Shah, MD

Having been Dr. Shah's patient for approximately 6 years and being 22 years into my post-cancer journey, I can confidently say he has been instrumental in my health. As a mother, my priority is staying healthy to enjoy a fulfilling, happy life, and Dr. Shah has become my essential ally in this pursuit.Navigating invasive medical tests can be daunting, but having Dr. Shah guide me through this process has been one of my life's greatest blessings. Throughout my 22-year cancer journey, I've worked with numerous physicians, and Dr. Shah stands out as exceptional. His brilliance, willingness to go above and beyond, dedication of time, and genuine care set him apart. Words cannot adequately express my gratitude. If you have the opportunity to become his patient, consider yourself fortunate indeed.

I was referred to Dr. Shah by my primary care physician due to intense abdominal pain. I lost 15 pounds in a few weeks and had two emergency room visits. Luckily, tests didn't show anything life threatening, but the cause was unclear. It was a very difficult time, but thanks to him I recovered. Dr. Shah is an outstanding doctor, one of the best !!!

Dr. Shah performed my colonoscopy one month ago: everything went perfectly well. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Shah and his team.

The way to contact Dr Shah is to leave a message on an assistant’s voice mail and wait. There is no way to speak with someone in the office. Even new patients are directed to a service. Sometimes they return the call the same day and other times, they get back to you in a few days. Twice I missed one day of my prescription because of the delays. Also, Dr Shaw's PA wrote a prescription for the wrong amount, apparently, they did not check my chart for the dose prescribed by Dr Shah. I get the feeling they do not actually want to see people.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shah since 2016, 6 colonoscopy and 3 endoscopy procedures. I wouldn't go to anyone else. He is so kind and caring. Always willing to explain, asks if I have questions and never in a rush. Very thorough and wonderful bedside manner. His staff is great too both at the Digestive Center and his office.

Where is the smile? Very straightforward with answers. When expressed that the cost factor was a factor in the medication I would be able to take he offered online resource without really being a resource himself. I find that he offers medication without much thought. Almost like try this. Try that. No apparent interest in follow up progress outside of TWO months. Hard to schedule appointments much before 2 to 3 months out. He is still not working from his office because of Covid. All video telephone appointments only. In terms of having a colonoscopy with Dr. Shah, rate him highly. Yet contact with him directly is hard to achieve.

I first met him when I had my Colonscopy, my previous physician was not available. He explained the procedure. After the procedure he told my husband the results of what he saw, gave him the pictures. He also wrote out what he discussed. Very nice and professional physician.

Excellent care provided by Dr Shah and his entire bedside nursing staff. Highly skilled IV nurse is a plus! ALL bedside nurses were pleasant and appeared to “love what they do”. Highly recommend Dr Shah and his excellent team if you’re planning to have a colonoscopy. My husband and I will return for next colo because of this positive outpatient experience. Thank you

I have a hx of colon cancer plus significant difficulties with colonoscopy prep. Thanks to Dr Shah and his staff I was successful in my prep and calmly went into my procedures. Dr Shah is an excellent communicator. He clearly explained every step of the procedures. I had no questions and felt very confident that I was in excellent and caring hands. It was frustrating in the beginning to get an appointment. The nurses were wonderful and helped me relax. Their positive attitude lifted my spirit. Though I saw Dr. Shah for just a minute, his confident attitude was very reassuring. I will say the staff made all the difference. Well done ladies.

Outstanding Doctor! Dr. Shah is extremely skilled, an excellent communicator, very organized and always thoughtful when explaining considerations prior to procedures. I have had several procedures with Dr. Shah over the years and am always very impressed with his professionalism and skilled surgical ability. I will always recommend him to friends and family, as he is truly a great doctor.
