Dr. Kent Vandevrede, DO

I tried to make an appointment and was transferred to a recording I waited fifteen minutes and finally hung up. If this is a reflection of the patient care provided by the staff that might have been the right decision

I went to Dr. Vandevrede as a new patient. As the reviews mention here, he spends quite a bit of time with patients and seems to be a compassionate doctor which I appreciate. I wanted to write this review so that other people will understand his approach to health and the size of your body. I brought in 3 pages of lab results from a recent physical to the appointment and I felt like most of our time together was spent discussing how to lose weight. I am the size of the average American woman and am in generally good health so the focus on weight loss through a plant based diet and intermittent fasting was off-putting to me. I believe it is entirely possible to be healthy in a bigger body and Dr. Vandevrede if you're reading this, you might want to check out the book Health at Every Size by Linda Bacon.

He is a caring guy who takes his time. I had 4th stage cancer and other unusual maladies that he tries to figure out, I appreciate that VERY much. Jack Grenan

Dr V is the BEST....was persistent in finding out what was wrong even when a couple trips to the ER and a few scans weren’t giving any answers and I just got sicker and sicker. He’s caring, listens, takes time with me, I never feel rushed or that he doesn’t care about what I’m saying or feeling. Even my husband who would never go to the Dr for anything gets his physicals now and goes for even a bad cold because he likes and respects his Dr. Got my adult sons on board as well. Dr. Vandevrede is a fantastic physican. He is very professional and works well with me on my health problems. Very understanding and informative. I recommend him to anyone.

This man is amazing. When I first got sick I meet him as an intern and asked when he got to his own office could I be a patient and he said yes. Never meet a doctor so compassionate for his patients. He went as far to give me his cellphone number. I will always thank h8m for everything he had done for me. Thank you the Medlock family

Dr. VandeVrede is a wonderful doctor. He always takes the time to listen patients and figure out what the best options are for treatment. He doesn't push unnecessary medications preferring changes in diet and lifestyle instead.

Great staff lousy policymaking. If you miss 4 or more appts without a 24 hr notice you are disscharged as a patient. Oh sorry ive had a stroke an forget things. Wont happen again. Good luck finding a doctor thats not worried about policy and actually worries about tge patient. But the staff there is great!

Ever since i had fallen extremely ill a few years ago and was assigned to a doctor, I had my doubts, but as i continued to go to my appointments each month Dr. Vandevrede was honest and up front with the medical issues at hand. It has become so much easier to speak with him, he has wonderful communication skills and is looking out for the well being of my health. he has challenged me to look at a healthier life style it is hard but the little bit of encouragement from him has helped.

So. I missed my initial appointment by 30 minutes due to work, did not have the chance to call ahead and say I would miss it, then proceeded to show up to my appointment anyways to reschedule. A few days later I receive a letter in the mail saying, "Unfortunately, due to this missed initial appointment, I find it necessary to inform you that I will not be able to serve as your primary care physician." I'm going to college in a few days and now cannot get a physical! Thanks a lot, doc!

My mother is a patient of Dr. Vandevrede. I accompanied her to a recent visit and was extremely impressed. The office staff is friendly and the wait time was minimal. Dr. Vandevrede spent a considerable amount of time with my mom in order to properly assess her health status and formulate a care plan. He is personable, compassionate, and spends the time needed to provide excellent care. He has excellent communication skills. Both my mom and I would highly recommend him.
